Art-déco résidence built in 1930-1931 as the personal house of architect Ernest Cormier. It was built as a complete work of art, as the furniture was drawn and conceived by the architect. The large windows at the front represent the modernist tendency of the era. Bought in 1979 by former PM P.E. Trudeau and still in the family, which means that there are no public visits available. The facade on Rue Pine is reminiscent of some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work in California (I.e. the Storer House) and thus very appealing to aficionados of FLW.

Ernest Cormier designed and built this house while he was a professor in University of Montreal in 1930's. This is the only house with total original Art Decor design. This became the residence of the late honorable Pierre Trudeau after he left politics in the 80's. The place where the current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau grew up. Mr Ernest Cormier received a gold medal honor with this house and now the building is listed as a national historical architecture.

Not much to see here. You can't get in or around the building. You can ogle at it from the sidewalk, though, if you find parking somewhere close. I'm sure it would be impressive if it was open for public, but as it is, it's not worth a visit or anything.
