I was harassed by the male security guard about 5'5 with glasses and wearing dark colored mask and suit. I don't understand why he bothered to leave his office to surveil and always follow us when I was about to leave the place. An hour ago, I shopped at the camera store, purchased coffee, and purchased items in Olly. At La Cordee, there was a robbery and we all witnessed a tall lanky man run away with goods when another different security guard chased him--this is not the same guy following me an hour later. But, the security guards (or the security company) did not do anything to capture him, or reported the ongoing theft by the group of thieves. They just let him run through the security administration office, as the suspect fled to the Metro subway station. Next, I did more shopping, and later sat in the food court area. I noticed the same harassing security guard in question circle around me a few times. Later, when I put on my outerwear and ready to leave, I was drinking water from the water bottle when he decided to get out of the office and further surveil and harrass me for no apparent reason. He just showed up like a ghost out of nowhere. He stopped on his tracks and watched me leave. Also, there are many other people sitting in different spots, but today, he chose the wrong person with the courage to post the abuse of authority for others and the administrators to see my special complaint. I want to mention that this particular security guard did absolutely nothing when other people pickup trash from the garbage for 5 minutes or more. For example, during the same time I was there sitting, I witnessed a few backpacking men and women who were grabbing thrown out food to eat from the garbage bin that is near the subway entrance, but the same security guard did not say anything to them, and did not even show up to stop them from what they were doing between 3 to 5 pm. The people Instead, this guy just follows me around and I did absolutely nothing wrong. This man needs his work credentials verified, and psych evaluation because he clearly is not doing his job propersly, and letting the real criminals get away from their crimes. There is a word for this: either looking the other way, or supporting crime happen by being an accessory to crime. I live in a country now where there are lots of foreigners with a personal agenda-- or foreign workers (such as security guards) who intentionally cause malice to society by being disrespectful to customers--or other Canadians, who truly benefitted and built this nation. I feel so offended by the security guard's actions that although it was my first time visiting the Promenade, I regret...
Read moreAn okay small mall that is connected to other malls with bigger and less congested food courts. This mall is in a beautiful location under Christ Church Cathedral and connects to Mcgill Metro and the Eaton's Centre. Food court can feel creepy, unpleasant and intrusive at times and the Montreal Trust food court seems to offer a much nicer, professional and consistent experience, IMO. The public bathroom doors in this mall can be flimsy and a push from an inconsiderate and inpatient customer can open up the door and interactions can be random, one sided with little concern for privacy and personal space and can feel very rough at times, IMO. Some staff don't or won't speak English, look disgusted when you speak French and once I saw a male security guard actually inside the woman's bathroom. Ignoring the ghetto traps which are typical when people don't use positive language and interpersonal skills. It looks like a neat underground mall when you first see it cause it is under a beautiful cathedral and some of the stores are pretty nice but there is also a random, silent, creepy and angry cultural element too, which could take you by surprise and waste...
Read moreI go here often for lunches. I'm not a huge fan of the shopping mall itself but the food court has a couple great options. There's some standard options like McDonald's and subway but the best places are Olly Fresco's and Villa Madina. You can tell by the line ups that they are the good ones.
The best part of the promenade itself is that it connects the underground city of Montreal. You can go underground at the bay store and pop up all over the place. In the winter and when it's raining it's a really nice option to be able to travel so much indoors. It also let's you get away from the constant construction on st Catherine street.
A couple key places you can travel underground world be place Ville Marie and the Scotia Bank cinema. You also get access to the metro station and like 7 other...
