My son went zip lining today, and we got upsold on paying $15 for the video of his trip - a nice keepsake from our vacation, why not? I paid upfront for the video. When he landed at the other tower, he was given a QR code and told his video would be ready in roughly an hour. The videos of the people before and after him were already available, but not his. We waited an hour, then went to talk to the landing tower - they agreed they couldn’t find his video. We can see him in the background of another person’s launch, and can see the video of the people that landed after him, but can’t find his video. Excuses about the system being slow today - again, we can see the riders before and after him, but not him. Look, things happen, not having the ride video isn’t that big of a deal, just refund my $15 (plus taxes) and I’ll go about my day. If the video magically uploads later, I’ll buy it then. Well, landing tower can’t help me, so I get sent to the launch tower. No problem, again, things happen, just refund my money and we’re all good. Instead I got a multitude of excuses about how the system is slow, and it’s not their fault (never said it was; don’t care, just want my $15 back), and then I get told I have to call the 3rd party camera company and they’ll deal with it and possibly refund me.
Wait - I paid YOU for services not rendered, and your solution is for ME to call YOUR vendor? Absolutely ridiculous, but I’m not interested in starting an altercation with some random employee about this, so I took the (written in marker on the back of a receipt tape) vendor number and left. Here I am, 3+ hours later, and still no sign of my son’s video, or my $15.
Anyways, my son enjoyed the zip line ride, but I think the upsell of a video that can’t be provided is awfully scammy, and the “call the video company, it’s not our problem” response is...
Read moreCame to montreal to visit and happened across the mtl ziplone. With hopes of enjoying another zip line in a new city the experience was quickly deminished into something of a terrible experience. What happened was myself and another 15 people were waiting in line upstairs when a storm started to come closer and started to rain, we were then ushered back down the 14 flights of stairs and pushed into a small container with not much more than a foot of space between customers (a complete lack of health and safety standards). Unknowning when the rain would stop i asked the staff if we could receive a refund, which they quickly replied ‘No’, we will wait 30 mins and when its clear everyone can go again. I couldnt wait who knows when, and asked to leave. They let me out and i waited outside. Not more than 5 minutes had passed i saw the very same attendant come outside with another customer and HAND HIM A CASH VALUE REFUND! i confronted the attendant and informed all the customers waiting inside the small container what had happened and the attendant than proceed to offer everyone a free pass for...
Read moreVery well run operation. Seems like a pushy sell job at first but then you realize that it really is as good as they say. Not frightening at all, except the steep climb up. Everything is reinforced well however so you feel safe. The staff are efficient and professional. I have to give a special shout out to them for doing an incredible job of managing and assisting my daughter who is ambulatory but has significant physical disabilities. They were understanding and patient and couldn't have made her feel any more welcome. Both kids and I loved the experience and will remember it as a highlight of our trip to Montreal. The kids are already plotting their return, lol!
Price was $15pp when we visited. If you go, keep in mind that you cannot use your cellphone during the experience. The only way to film your "ride" is to pay $5 for an armband that you put your phone into (which is actually not bad, in hindsight I wish I had done this :)).
Best to wear athletic gear (including your shoes) to ensure a comfortable ride and women should tie their long hair back.
Highly...
