I came to Montreal as a tourist to see some friends in the area. I saw many reviews about how good the food was at this location, so I decided to give it a try.
I'll start with the positive : the food is indeed good. A little pricey, but that's to be expected about an area with so many tourists.
Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about the negative : I had one employee serve me all along during my visit. Right when I arrived I noticed something didn't feel perfect. I arrived when the location was pretty empty inside and outside. I was told that the inside of the restaurant looks pretty good so I wanted to sit inside. I was not offered to sit inside at all and directed to sit outside. The employee that server me seemed as if she either didn't like her work or didn't like foreigners. Service was very slow. During my meal, the sun changed position and there were bees outside, so I asked if there were any tables available inside. The employee said they'd go take a look. They never came back.
All along the meal the employee made me feel as if I wasn't welcomed at all, from my arrival to my departure. I felt as if foreigners were either hated at the location or by this specific employee. I took a look at how other customers were treated and could definetely notice I was being treated differently from French speaking customers.
I would 100% recommend ANY tourists who doesn't speak French to totally avoid this location, except if you feel like you want to be treated with a...
Read moreJardin Nelson is an absolute gem in Montreal's bustling restaurant scene. Having visited multiple times, I'm accustomed to the infamous lineups that can stretch up to five hours. Yet, our recent visit during the St. Jean Baptiste Day long weekend was a delightful surprise – no wait time, and we were seated immediately.
The authenticity of the place remains unparalleled, and the atmosphere is always vibrant, thanks in no small part to the live jazz band. This time, we were serenaded by the talented Eloidie Miron and her musicians, whose music added an exquisite touch to our evening.
Food Highlights:
Baby Back Ribs: Glazed with Jack Daniel’s and maple syrup, these ribs were a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The meat was tender and flavorful, falling off the bone effortlessly. Quatre Fromages: This dish was a delightful mix of cheeses, beautifully complemented by fresh arugula on top. The arugula added a peppery bite that cut through the richness of the cheeses, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. To complement our meal, we selected a bottle of Dao Wine. It paired wonderfully with our dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Jardin Nelson's combination of exceptional food, outstanding service, and captivating live music makes it a must-visit destination in Montreal. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this restaurant offers an unforgettable...

We left the restaurant and we went to a different place . My question is : how this place manage to accommodate people on wheelchair ( the big ones ) or families that go to have dinner with disabled kids, do they said no to them too ? I hope they resolve this problem in the near future and create room for this kind of situation along with training her hostess in costumer service , remember her always to be kind in...
