We were out enjoying the day, but being a hot summer day we wanted something to cool us down. My wife had looked up BreWskey earlier and saw that they were known for having good smoked meats. Thankfully when we checked the menu we saw they had a salad option so we decided to try them out. The hostess was really friendly and got us seated quickly and wiped our table down. The waitstaff was quick and friendly getting us some waters and talking to us about the beer options on tap. They took our order for the smoked chicken caesar salad and our beers. They came back out with the drinks quickly so we could enjoy them while waiting for the food. I got the 'Lots of Riwaka' beer, since it used only the specialty Riwaka hops. Absolutely delicious beer, nice and hazy, one of the better IPAs I've had and will definitely be keeping an eye out for this hop variety. The smoked chicken caesar came out and it was a pretty good size salad, definitely a full meal. The smell of the chicken is great, you can really smell and taste that they do smoke the chicken. It might be a bit strong, but with the caesar dressing in the salad it worked really well. The meat was really tender and the salad greens were fresh and crispy. Very enjoyable experience all around and the out door seating is great.

Solid spot for poutine and beer! Our server said they have the best poutine in Old Port, and I'm inclined to believe her. Location: at the north end of Rue St Paul. You will see the awning and outdoor seating. Poutine du chef CAD$29 was excellent. Brisket was on the lean side. Chicken was great. Gravy was the best part. Smash burger western CAD $26 was massive for a smash. We substituted onion rings for extra $2. Sevanor was a triple IPA that tasted great and very hoppy. The 16 oz was CAD$10. Our server was great! She handled all the outdoor tables like a champ. It was busy soon after they opened around 11:30AM. I visited the pub and sat at the bar and came back and sat at the middle bar area ( I forget what they called it). I liked the barleywine. The other beers were alright. Good service. I only tried the salmon bites and they weren’t my jam. They were the Canadian smoked style salmon which I’m not. Huge fan of. Although I did like the place and the vibe for being on the edge of such a touristy spot. Given the location i did like this place.

Nothing went right on our visit to this restaurant. What happened here was just so egregiously shocking, we eventually left without eating. This place seriously needs to review health codes regarding the serving of food.

The first issue was the service. The place was hopping, but not overwhelmed; lots of full tables, but also plenty of empty tables. We waited and waited and waited, watching the server come to the tables next to us on both sides without so much as a “I’ll be right with you.” No acknowledgment whatsoever. We sat for at least 20 minutes before being greeted and that's not an exaggeration as I started timing it at one point just because it was starting to get noticeable. I can’t explain why we decided to wait other than we were hungry, tired, and every place was busy.

We finally got our order taken: beer, cider, bison burger and a veggie burger. And then we proceeded to wait and wait and wait some more. Tables that came in long after us were finishing their meals and we were still waiting. My wife said, “Here comes our food.” Nope, served to the table next to us, a couple, but the woman was away, presumably using the restroom. Her food sat there while she was away. Finally, my food comes, but not my wife’s. When the server announces the dish, “One smash burger, single” I said, “This isn’t what I ordered.” The server tried to gaslight me by saying “Oh, yeah, I said the wrong thing, this is a bison burger” when it clearly wasn’t. At this point, the woman was back at the table and called over the server, saying “I didn’t order a veggie burger” and before my disbelieving eyes this guy picks up the veggie burger from in front of her, turns around, and puts it in front of my wife. “Hey,” I said, “you can’t take a dish you served to another table that’s been sitting there for 5-6 minutes and turn around and serve it to another table.” The server got super annoyed with me and took it away saying they’d remake it. Sure, I thought, that dish is going back to sit another 5-6 minutes in the kitchen and then coming back to the table.

At this point, stick a fork in me, I’m so done. We got up to speak to the manager to leave. At first they didn't want to let us speak to the manager, "Why do you want to see him? He's busy." Eventually we were permitted to see the manager and while he was pro-forma apologetic about it, he clearly couldn’t have cared less as he still made us pay for the beer. Maybe I’m being picayune here, but ffs, comp us and get us out of the restaurant at that point. We’ve been there nearly 90 minutes, served the wrong food, lied to, and witnessed a major health code violation right in front of us. That’s our experience here. Mrs. says, “Just let it go…” but I feel the need to share. You’re considering eating here, you jumped to “What are the bad reviews saying vs the good reviews?” so here you go. YMMV, this is...

We got into Montreal yesterday driving from Southern Ontario for a Bachelorette. We were a party of 5 and I made a note on the reservation that it was for a bachelorette. We got in a little bit later than we had hoped so called the pub to move our reservation from 7:00 to 7:30. Whoever I spoke to on the phone wasn’t too thrilled about us pushing our reservation, but there was nothing we could do about that unfortunately. We were escorted to a nice booth upstairs.

When we arrived our server was making rude comments and little jabs at us. He seemed annoyed with us for some reason (we assume because we pushed our reservation, or potentially because we were English speaking). We ordered beers and an app. When the app came he just dropped it off and started to walk away immediately. We all wanted another round of beers so I was able to catch him before he walked off but he didn’t check with anyone else if they wanted another beer. He came back with my beer and tried to walk away again when 2 other girls were able to ask for another beer before he walked off again. When he came back with those beers he tried to walk off AGAIN when the bride asked for another. He gave her some attitude in a “joking” way. We finished our app and waited and waited… he cleaned tables around us, gave other people service and never even came back to take our entree order. I had to go up and speak to him to get him to come over and take our order (I will add I’m a waitress back home in Ontario). I politely acknowledged that we were late, but I had called, I said he seemed to be upset with us and not giving us good service. I said we are just trying to have a good time and we are not. Truthfully we wanted to take our business elsewhere but it was 8:30 by this point and we were very hungry. He promptly came back and took our order and gave us better service afterwards but he was not “friendly” at all. You could tell he was very upset by the situation. The regulars that were there were having a great time with him and he was giving them far superior service that we received.

The food was EXCELLENT and came out very quickly after we ordered. Downstairs seemed to have a much better vibe and we wish we had been able to eat down there.

I am very easy going and not hard to please at all, but the rude comments and lack of service especially on a very special weekend was VERY...

Went here for a pit stop on a particularly rainy day and had a great time. We selected a couple of startes (focaccia and salmon bits) and both were good, especially notable the sauce on the salmon bits. The main star of the day however was the lobster roll. Truly excellent. And served woth two good sides, a salad and some chips with home made dipping sauce. Really hits the spot on a rainy day. Service was great, and especially patient with us as we had to wait for a friend who was late. Had waiters good with both french and english which is always a plus. The atmosphere is interesting as the pub itself is located inside the brewery which is a nice concept and a break from the style of most restaurants we went to during our trip. That said the second floor smelled pretty bad when we passed in front of it and I would have not wanted to eat there. An additional point deduction I must make inspite of it not being one of the main criteria on google is the location. While the place itself is beautiful, conveniently located and accessible the path provided on most maps and siniege in the mall would lead trough a series of fairly inaccessible, tortuousn and honestly smelly corridores and stairs which I would have preferred avpiding. Especially when there is a perfectly good entrance on the back of the building. Investing on some better sineage whould be a big plus. That said a great lunch. The beers are very good and a...
