Misogynistic, aggressive, and openly hostile — I left this store in tears.
I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life here today. I was visiting with my family when a man — who I’m fairly sure was the owner — rudely told me not to put shirts back on the shelf. I did exactly as he asked and placed it next to the shelf.
Instead of leaving it at that, he accused me of giving him “attitude” simply because I turned away. Then, in front of other customers, he began yelling at me. When I said, “Okay, I’m leaving,” he kept shouting and even threatened to “bring my husband in” — a blatantly sexist, intimidating remark that made it clear he was treating me with contempt simply for being a woman.
Even as I walked toward the door, he followed me inside the store while still yelling, making the situation feel aggressive, hostile, and unsafe. I left in tears, feeling humiliated, angry, and shocked that such an openly misogynistic encounter could happen at a business with so many glowing 5-star reviews. No customer — and no woman — should ever be...
Read moreMost insufferable human being I have ever encountered. We were a family of six looking to buy souvenirs for our family. We all live within three hours of Montreal and I was even born and raised here. This man, who we assume was the owner was inexcusably disrespectful to my 40 yrs old daughter. She was looking at t-shirts and when she went to put it back, he yelled at her for no apparent reason, then he proceeded to tell her that she had an attitude in front of other customers, at which point my daughter told him she was leaving, he continued yelling at her as she was leaving and told her to bring in her husband. She came out crying and visibly upset with her encounter. Obviously this small human being is used to treating women with insolence as if they were subhuman. I encourage everyone to boycott his store as there are so many other souvenir shops in the same area. He does not deserve anyones’ business. Help us keep these misogynistic humans out...
Read moreWe had such a wonderful experience at Souvenir du Québec Saint Paul! The customer service was absolutely amazing – warm, charming, and welcoming. What truly stood out to us was how kind and accommodating the whole family was, especially compared to other souvenir shops we visited.
As travelers from Toronto visiting Montreal for a few days, this was by far one of the best shopping experiences we had. They were the only souvenir store that gladly welcomed our service dog inside, not only allowing her in but showing her so much love and affection. That meant a lot to us.
They also took the time to show us a wide variety of unique souvenirs, making the experience personal and enjoyable. It felt less like shopping and more like being treated as a guest in their store.
We highly recommend Souvenir du Québec Saint Paul to anyone visiting Old Montreal. If you’re looking for beautiful souvenirs, this is the place to...
