Read moreI visited this café for tea time, hoping to enjoy some tea and cake. The tea selection was decent, but the desserts left me disappointed.
I tried the pear cake and the matcha yuzu cake. The pear cake had a good amount of pear filling between two thick layers of sponge cake. The balance of cake, cream, and filling was nice, with just the right amount of whipped creamânot overwhelming. However, it was too sweet for my taste, especially by Asian dessert standards.
The matcha yuzu cake was even sweeter. There was a heavy layer of cream on top and around the cake, which overpowered the flavors. The sponge cake itself was on the drier side, and the matcha flavor was barely noticeable. While the yuzu filling had some sourness, it was mainly sweet, making the overall experience unbalanced.
If you prefer less sweet and more refined flavors, this might not be the best place for desserts. However, if you enjoy richer, sweeter cakes, it could be worth a try.
Personally, I think Hanlin Tea House has one of the best pastries in the area, along with great tea from Tea Origin.
Otherwise, this is a great spot for working, studying, or hanging out with...
Read moreAtmosphere is great, decoration is all chic and stuff. Service can be questionable since you pay/tip before they server you. They def serve KOLs/Influencers faster no matter how late they arrive after you. Drinks are pretty good, cakes are terrible. They used to make the best crepe cake in town(btw not best anymore, but still pretty okay) but they dont sell crepe cake at this location. I ordered a banana cake, a mango sticky rice cake, an oreo cake and a cake with mini creme brulee on top. They all look amazing cant deny, and all of these tiny toppings are full of flavors, but the cakes themself - they taste all similar, no layered flavor, very plain mixture of sponge and cream. They are not sweet, like, not sweet in asian bakery level. The cream has no butter-y or milky taste, doesnt melt in mouth either. With all these combine, I felt like I was swallowing tasteless fat down my throat. I hate wasting food especially pricy food, but didn't finish any of those in the end. Recommend to bring a jar of berry jam with you, so you can enjoy their...
