We just finished a Canadian rail from Toronto to Quebec city. It was so nice to not have to drive anywhere. Everything was set up for us, hotels the trains and all tours. Ottawa is a beautiful beautiful city. Quebec city of course, is like being in France, so you can get a hint of Europe Without a time change and a nine hour flight. Montreal has a lot to see. The hotels were well situated so you could pretty much walk everywhere. We even walked from the train station to our hotel in two of the cities. We are in our mid 60s and in pretty good shape . The food was excellent everywhere we ate. Canada is a gorgeous country. We only got to see basically three big cities, but the train ride enabled us to see the country in between. We are now looking at the same train going through Alaska. Enjoy

We have just returned from a wonderful Canadian holiday. Thank you to Lisa Wigmore for all for your work in organising our itinerary for us. We began in Vancouver, then took a scenic overnight train to Jasper in a sleeper cabin. From Jasper we visited Lake Louise and Banff, both stunning highlights of the trip. We then took a flight from Calgary to Toronto. We enjoyed a day trip to Niagara Falls and the charming Niagara-on-the-Lake. We then set off on a self-drive adventure through Ottawa and Quebec City, finishing in Montreal before flying home to Australia. The hotel accommodations were way above our expectations and the various tours were excellent,. So many memorable experiences. We highly recommend Canada by Design for anyone wanting to see the very best of Canada.

Thank you Sue Barnaby and Mandy all the accommodation you booked for us was brilliant close to everything we needed with great service Rosedale on Robson in Vancouver, Delta Suites in Whistler and especially Laurel on the Point in Victoria what a great position and view right in the middle of James Bay. All of our activities came together very well High tea at The Empress in Victoria, sea to Sky Gondola and Harbour Seaplane from Whistler to Victoria, Butchart gardens were amazingly beautiful, and to top it off Eagle Wing whale watching our only orca sighting in our whole trip including Alaska breathtaking. Capilano bridge was beautiful and scary (I don’t like heights) but I did it. Thank you so much highly recommend your service! Kind Regards Vicki and Les Burrell Australia 🇦🇺

To Discover Holidays Vancouver.

We would like to extend our great appreciation and thanks to Lisa from Discover Holidays in Vancouver Canada for her outstanding service.

My wife and I had never holidayed in Canada before and were unsure of good locations to visit.

We had 3 week’s annual leave in April 2023 but no real idea of where to visit.

We contacted Discover Holiday’s in Vancouver via email to seek help from an experienced travel agent to assist with coordinating our proposed holiday.

We were put in contact with Lisa, she was amazing to deal with, had broad knowledge of locations, hotels, attractions and how to get the best from our holiday time.

Information of our preferences, types of activities etc was supplied and Lisa returned a selection of options for us to consider.

The entire process and correspondence from first email, understanding our preferences, budget, and time limit etc worked seamlessly and was an excellent experience.

We made a few changes to the itinerary prior to confirming bookings, adding an extra week at last minute to incorporate or wedding anniversary, which again turned out perfectly and unexpected as Lisa had arranged an anniversary gift for us when we arrived in our hotel room that day.

The locations we visited were Vancouver, Grouse Mountain, Whistler, Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, and Vancouver Island.

Highlights were too many to name we loved the entire trip.

We would highly recommend Lisa (Travel Designer) to anyone looking for a knowledgeable courteous and easy going travel professional to assist you with your travel plans.

Kindest...

To all travelers to the Canadian Pacific Northwest and Rockies, we want to let you know that the team at Canada by Design excels!! We were seeking a journey of a lifetime, featuring the power and grandeur of Vancouver, one of the world's top train journeys, the power and grandeur of the Canadian Rockies and one of the world's most beautiful and powerful drives.

We got it all with the tremendous experience and expertise of Mandy McArthur and the team of Canada by Design.

At every step, Mandy was there for us, taking the time to understand our dream, and knowing how to help us get it realized. Places to stay, choices on tours, train options, site options, all were incredibly brilliant, spot on, just perfect. And from the time we booked until we came home last night, Mandy and her team were there with any questions we had anytime.

We went from one experience to another truly flawlessly. That is how reliable, precise the planning was set up.

We know come home with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Ms. Mandy McArthur and Canada by Design.

And thank you Canada, what a glorious country. The power of the Pacific Northwest culture, the beauty of Vancouver, the wonderful salmon, the unique pleasure of the Rocky Mountaineer train journey, the stunning beauty of the sharp peaks of Jaspar and Banff National Parks from Jasper to Banff, the other worldly experience of seeing icefields and standing on a living glacier, the roar of freshly melted glacial water in incredible colors in glacial lakes and rivers, and much more.

Our lives are...

In July, 2025 I did the trip “Toronto to the Canadian Rockies by Train with Via Rail and Rocky Mountaineer”. Alekh at Canada by Design did a great job of putting together this trip for me with adjustments to meet my desired options. He was so helpful in his suggestions of the best way to travel on the Via Rail and he worked with me to choose the day excursions in Jasper and Banff that fit my interests (which were outdoor experiences like biking and hikes) and abilities. I knew nothing about anything and he had lots of helpful information as he had traveled all of these areas himself. For instance, I had no idea how to get from the airport to Union Station where the Via Rail leaves from and he told me about the UP Express which was $6 as opposed to an expensive taxi ride. After the whole package was put together and I had made my payment, I needed a couple of adjustments (one to an excursion and one to the hotel choice in Vancouver). These were made quickly with no issues and I received a revised itinerary. I can’t say enough about the whole staff at Canada by Design. They were superb. My phone calls were answered promptly or returned within a few hours if I had to leave a message. All the staff I spoke with was knowledgeable about my excursion whenever I called with questions. Absolutely the best company of all the choices for this kind of trip. Thank you Alekh and the entire staff !! Joan Clark,...
