The tall chunky blonde guy working self checkout 6:30pm on Aug 8 is extremely rude and doesnāt know grade 3 math. He kept insisting to me that $8.80 per kg is the same as $3.50 per pound. (Itās obviously not. And he even said āitās approx 2.2 lbs per kgā then did the math on his phone and realized he was wrong) So instead he doubled down and was accusing me of switching the signs in front of the tomatoes. Despite the simple fact that the store had had mixed up the signs. They had two different types of tomatoes with three different prices/signs. I shouldnāt need a degree in botany to buy tomatoes. Why canāt fresh street just put the proper sign above the display? Ultimately itās Not a big deal, I get it, it happens; just donāt try to call me an idiot while 1) youāre working and 2) youāre clearly wrong about elementary math, [and just doubling down for your own ego]. 3) I literally left the self checkout and went back to the display to triple check i wasnt mistaken before I ever even asked him a question. Then walked with him to check a fourth time and he accused me of switching signs.
The brunette/blonde girl working with the rude guy at self checkout on Aug 8 at 6:30pm was absolutely amazing and understood what customer service is. And how it can be frustrating for shoppers to feel they need to double check every item.
Basically all of this could be avoided if fresh street didnt advertise everything in pounds then charge everything in Kilos at the register in order to confuse customers. Why is this a reoccurring problem in Canada? In the USA thereās like a $20,000 fine if stores have the wrong price and they never do it. Yet in Canada I have to be a detective every time I go grocery shopping. Then the employees make you feel like a scumbag for bringing up the fact that itās $1 wrong. But when itās a store as big as fresh street. Stealing $1 from each customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe IGA was a popular alternative for locals to the more expensive Village Grocery Store. Unfortunately, since Fresh St have taken over the location they have raised many of the prices, while no longer stocking several of the cheaper brands. This alone is disappointing as, like many companies, they seem to be targeting tourists rather than serving the local community. While they'll be fine through the season, I imagine the business will suffer in the off-season, as locals go to more affordable stores for their groceries. The (admittedly much-needed) renovations have also been on-going for several months. While this was always going to cause some disruption, Fresh St seem determined to make shopping as difficult as possible for customers, with products being moved to different aisles on literally a daily basis (this isn't hyperbole; I went in two days in a row, and several sections had been switched round overnight). As a result, no one knows where anything is. It took three members of staff to help me find the pasta sauces today. To make things worse, whole sections of the store don't have any price labels (see photo), making it impossible to make an informed choice. To cut a long story short; if you're a local, or even a tourist, you're better off shopping at the Grocery Store in the village, or walking up to Nesters (assuming you don't have a car to take you to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWOW. What a incredible market! I've started a new tradition, when I visit Whistler, in the morning I stop by and say hello to Pauline who works in thier amazingly, delicious and highly addictive coffee and doughnuts kiosk. Boy she knows her stuff!! It's a wonderful way to start my day of adventure! Thanks for the smiles, great customer service and INCREDIBLE donuts!!
OMG!!! As the photo attached says. The amazing Donut Kiosk with Coffee ā has been shut down! VERY DISAPPOINTED in my opinion as a frequent tourist to Whistler BC WHY why why would manager do such a thing? I know that I'm not the only one who enjoys the fresh coffee and incredibly delicious donuts. Although the best part of taking my time each morning was the wonderful woman who I could chat with, ask questions and have a giggle or two. I certainly hope that things will get back to the way they were. Fresh St had something very special happening. I beg of you please give us visitors back 'the best kept secret!
SO THRILLED !! "The Shed' is back in action and I had the most incrediable 'iced coffee' as well as the best convo with the manager who is the brains behind this awesome way to start my day ! Thanks...
