City of Dream (COD) underwent major renovations a couple of years back and have recently completed the connecting hall to the newly opened Morpheus hotel and Morpheus Boutique shopping area. What is nice about this area is the contemporary art installations that are on display in what is referred to as 'The Art of Winning' area. This is a nice addition to COD, resembling something of a MOMA gallery.
Here visitors can experience large-scale installations by Kaws, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Erwin Wurm and Charles Petillon. These include a colourful prism like room which you can walk through and an oversized yellow Porsche. Along with the large hanging bubbles (or clouds), this makes for a photogenic contemporary art spot which hasn't been found along the Cotai Strip to date.
In addition to the newly created created art space, we enjoyed seeing the robots that were being showcased at the south entrance, near the escalator to the SOHO area of City of Dreams. And let us not forget that COD is the location of what is easily the very best performance show in Macau in the House of Dancing Water.
