Poor experience in this hotel since our check in. Never expect the service and hygiene control is so poor here. Believe the hotel management is not very care about the customer experience here. When we checked in on 14 Nov 3:30pm., The front desk female staff was very impolite and not helpful. We are told to show the pre-paid credit card with her impolite attitude. She made us feeling not only impolite but also her attitude was very unhelpful and quite offense. Finally we havn't showed up the pre-paid card as the reservation had already submitted an authorization letter from the pre-paid card owner. Our luxury time wasted, our holiday mood and expectation to the hotel ruined, just simply caused by the female staff had missed out the authorization letter and not allowed us to check in! Without any apology, we successfully check-in after being treated impolite by the front desk staff. Another awful experience, when I was in the lift with some guests from rooftop bar SUGAR, I found that 3 of them didn't wear mask! What makes the COVID spreading? One of the answer is lack of hygiene control in such a famous hotel in HK Island East owned by Swire Group!

*Unreasonable treatment and impolite staffs* Don’t stay in the East Hotel if you are searching for business trip. On my last day, I was working in the hotel lobby before heading to the airport. I briefly stepped away to take an urgent call. When I returned about 15 minutes later, I found that all of my belongings - bags, work computer, and other equipment - had been removed from my seat. When I went to the front desk, a staff member rudely told me that he had taken my items because I left my seat. They initially refused to return my belongings and argued that this was my fault. I am deeply concerned that the hotel allows its staff to arbitrarily remove and withhold guests' personal property. This is highly unethical and, as far as I'm aware, illegal. This is totally unacceptable and reckless to putatively “protect” visitors’ belongings as I have several unsaved files lost after they returned my personal computers. Extremely disgusted and frustrated with the unprofessionalism by the staff there.

I absolutely adore this hotel! I have stayed here three times in the last 12 months. It is conveniently located adjacent to a shopping centre and MTR station in Tai Koo Shing. I was quite jet-lagged, so it was great to dine at various places within the hotel and at the shopping centre. For the room, I love the water dispenser for drinking water in the room and they also provide a great shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion products from Australia. I really like ‘Sugar’, the rooftop bar and terrace; it offers a magnificent view of Kowloon East. The other two F&B outlets were lovely as well. I had breakfast at the Feast and lunch at Domain. Domain also made good coffee. Most importantly, I found that The East Hong Kong has the best employees (especially the FO team) which made my stay truly memorable. Every single staff member was hospitable, kind, friendly, and professional! 🤗 2304

The East hotel is conveniently located just outside the Tai Koo Shing subway station. The vibe they are going for is a modern feel that is similar to the positioning of the W hotel. This is the nicest hotel in the area. I would recommend staying here if you plan on spending some time in the Eastern part of the island. It will take you about 30 minutes via subway to get central and anywhere between 20-45 minutes by taxi. Sugar is a bar located on the top floor and definitely worth a visit if you are staying at this hotel. The views of the harbour from here are gorgeous and the interior design of the bar is chic. The rooms are decent sized for Hong Kong. The rooms don’t have door handles, which is kind of weird at first but you kind of get used to it.

Decent sized room with microwave, coffee machine and kettle. Small Wardrobe and limited drawers but fine for living out of a suitcase. Small table and comfortable chair. No views to speak of from the large glass windows. Just adjacent housing blocks who can easily see into your room, unless the blinds are lowered. (This was floor 18) I visited as a quarantine guest. Food offering presented online with a menu varying by current time of day. When I needed something it arrived on time. I was confined to the room for 7 days so didn't see any of the public rooms the hotel offers. Check in and check out was fast and efficient. There is little near the hotel, but an Island Line MTR station is nearby. About 20minutes to Central.

Great stay I love how quiet the rooms are you cannot hear anything from the other rooms. Thanks to Sanjay and Yurica for the great hospitality! Pros: - Separate walkway bridge to City Plaza mall with great food options and shopping. - I had city view room and changed to partial harbour view corner room and I can say the corner view with view is amazing. - MTR exit is D1 - Located in a very safe and residential/business area Cons: -didn’t try the breakfast/dinner as I found dining in pricey compared to the mall. - more pricey than North point or Wan chai area but walking score is better at East - zero privacy bathroom - your room door will not lock properly if you don’t swing it closed hard enough.
