The service and the sushi and the tempura are actually good and well prepared but the flattened and thin “udon” noodles look and feel very cheap. I asked the staff if I received the wrong noodles and they said that their udon is flattened and thin. Why would you even call it udon if it is not udon? It looks more like somen noodles or a Taiwanese beef noodles but definitely nothing close to Japanese udon noodles.
I can’t believe their chopsticks were so difficult to pull out of the case they were presented in. I had to ask a staff worker to help and even the staff worker was struggling to pull it out. It was such a bewildering experience. I have never been to any restaurant in my entire life where the chopsticks were so complicated and painful just to use. When The staff worker finally pulled the chopsticks out of the case while putting their hands all over the chopsticks they just gave them back to me to use without any apology or recognition of the issue or thinking about the contamination. I honestly cannot believe that this happened and it seemed like a normal occurrence to the staff. Is the restaurant too poor or too cheap to get better utensils?
I am also not a super clean freak that needs everything to be washed or sanitized when touched by someone else but this is a nicer restaurant that serves raw food. What happened to Hong Kong’s restaurant...
Read moreConsidered one of the best Sen Ryo joints in town. Quality of food generally good and services acceptable. However a recent visit was somewhat disappointing. Ordered the dish (pictured) but the seaweeds were soft and not crispy. When told they offered two sheets of crispy seaweeds for us to wrap the sushi around. Liked the dish so much we repeated the order. Again the seaweeds were soggy. This time the server didnt agree with us that the seaweeds were not right. Fortunately the supervisor Zoey came to our rescue and changed it for us. Oh yea when we requested for an extra serving of preserved ginger, we heard the server said “didnt I give them already”. Yes you did Miss but we wanted more. Can’t yoy oblige your customers by giving what they asked for, which was not unreasonable or excessive. Please pull up your socks to ensure you give top notch services in this...
Read moreI and my husband came here the first time for dinner and sushi was okay but we really love desert here. We kept coming back for dessert (only) and always had it takeaway. The first couple times was okay but the 4th time we came, staff was rude and unhappy and was hesitate to sell us dessert, so we said we came and bought many time already, he said if food outside of restaurant they would not have any responsibility (this part he said in Cantonese so i understand some words he said) and we okay with that. His attitude was so bad like "you're so annoying". After give me dessert, it wasn't cut it into half so i asked for that and he came with something like "this is the last time, next time I don't serve like this" in a very annoyed way and immediately look away.
We paid for what we ordered, we didn't...
