Great mosque...very historical. It is now part of the historical society of HK. They have kept as is. The imam is amazing ( Hafiz Afzal Khan).
It is inside a government compound, and the guards may ask you where you are going ..you can mention the mosque but there is a chance you will be denied entry. Depends on the guards at the main entrance gate. Friday prayers is the only day you may slip in.
But your option is by just walking to the left inside the green barrier on the left of the car entrance gates and taking the second left. If the guards ask just say you are going to the mosque. Typically you need to be registered but if you act normal ...instead of like a tourist. You may get in.
Friday prayers is at 1 10pm. Iqamah at 1 30. Getting in is NOT EASY. You have to be registered.
