We took the 12 bus from the bus exchange at the back of Hong Kong MTR station, beside IFC. (There is also minibus 8 from there). It will take you up the steep hill if you dont wish to work up a sweat - we had a toddler in a buggy and it was 32 degrees outside. We got off at the Caritas House stop, walked back down the hill 30 metres to the corner and then turned right and up for 50 metres to a small side entrance to the gardens. After that, its up to where the monkeys and other primates can be seen. There are some benches up there which are shaded. Another writer here objected to the size of the cages. But for me this is a well maintained, albeit small, facility with enough room for the primates. There is also a small educational centre which is useful for some Aircon, with a room that has crayons, tables and paper to amuse the small ones while you cool down. Beside the centre, there is an underpass to the Aviaries on the other side of the gardens. That side is even hillier that the primate side. Quite a few varieties of bird there and a nice fountain area albeit not much shade to be had. Overall it is a nice, relaxing...
Read moreI recently visited Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens Green House and it was an incredible experience. The Green House is a beautiful and well-maintained conservatory that houses a diverse collection of tropical plants and flowers from all around the world. It was truly a feast for the eyes to see so many vibrant and colorful species all in one place.
The Green House is also home to a variety of exotic animals, such as turtles and various species of birds. It was a joy to watch them interact with each other and their environment, and to learn about their unique behaviors and characteristics.
The staff at Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens Green House were friendly and knowledgeable, providing valuable insights and information about the plants and animals. The entire facility is clean and well-organized, making it easy to navigate and enjoy.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens Green House. It's a great way to spend a few hours immersed in nature and to learn more about the diverse flora and fauna...
Read moreI really enjoyed this. I come to Hong Kong often but never came here. I would say however, if this is your first trip to Hong Kong or if you are short on time, then I would do some of the other highlights first. This was very peaceful and relaxing on a Tuesday morning. Calm in the middle of a busy city! Clean and easy to navigate. I took a nice leisurely stroll. I went to see the birds, mammals and reptiles. Very impressive. I learnt a lot and had never seen some animals before. It was nice to watch them. There were some really beautiful plants that I saw along the way. I really liked the fountain with the skyscrapers in the background. I sat there for a bit relaxing and observing some of the elderly men and women practising their Tai Chi which was pretty cool. There is a lot to see and do. I just spent over an hour there which was fine for me. Relaxing morning. Entrance is free. My hotel is located in Central. I walked from there. Took around 7 minutes. It was uphill and my legs were killing! Would recommend especially if you...
