Hong Kong’s best sushi-pub. I come here on a regular basis. These are not photos from one meal. Location is great and convenient. Restaurant is pretty big. Sushi bar are on high chairs with hooks for you bags. Table sitting is comfy with spacious cushioned seats. They have a private room that fits a small party of 20 or so but requires a min. spending. They have an quite a selection of items on their menu. If its your first time or have difficulty making decisions this place can be a challenge. OR try their omakase and let the chef decide. Sushi bar experience for first timers are great. The chefs will ask what your likes and dislikes and will cater to your needs. They are pretty flexible. The portions are rather on the large side compared to traditional sushi places. The vibe here is always good when the main Chef is there. A LA CARTE RECOMMENDATIONS: My must-order — Super mini chirashi bowl topped with cubes of fish from salmon/snapper/yellow tail/etc.., sea urchin, egg, avocado and red caviar paired with miso soup. The mini chirashi bowl is not on the menu but can be requested. Salmon Lettuce wrap (don’t dip any sauce, eat as is) Torched fatty-toro sushi Hokkaido milk panna-cotta is sooo good. I’m a fan of their panna-cotta. Their items and service is great price per value. Advance booking is recommended.

If you haven't been to Sushi Kuu for their omakase dinner, I suggest you make a reservation now!! I've been coming here for years because I trust their quality and I know I'm definitely getting my money's worth. Their appetizers are always delicious, my fav is their onsen egg. Their sashimi and sushi is so fresh and such amazing quality. If they have something unique/special for the season, they will always include it in the omakase. Such a treat! The hot dishes varies with what they got in fresh. From grilled fishes to ox tongue, it's never disappointing. The soup ranges from seafood miso to my favorite teapot broth. The desserts are a great ending especially with their panna cotta. So creamy and yummy. Their fruits are also a treat but I'm usually too full for it. I also love their house blend coffee. Beautiful ending to an outstanding meal.

We ordered the omakaze which was $1100 per person, the food was ok but the quality of the same dishes varies, e.g. some prawns had not been deveined and still have the central vein attached, some prawns had been deveined but still have bits of vein left. At this price I would expect a bit more consistency. The service was acceptable, the some of the staff was nice and efficient and did explain the name of each dish however some didnt and was pretty un polite e.g when asked a bit more about the dish the waitress would give you an impatient look. At this price i could think of a dozen of better restaurants and would not recommend this place.

Food, atmosphere and service all below standard for the price category

My wife and I went for the lunch menu. I had the soba which was OK and admittedly not much go wrong with that. My wife had the deluxe sushi set for about 300 HKD. At that price class the sushi was much worse that comparable restaurants in that range...extremely plain, the scallop was horrific...taste wise on Genki level. The service was bad. My wife ordered no wasabi, they forgot. The wasabi itself again has nothing of a premier sushi restaurant experience....fresh made...but may be the day before. The waiter's don't even stop and look at while putting the plates on the table...just flying by. the place itself is very big...no atmosphere.

This place has nothing of a first rate sushi experience that you can get in other upper market sushi restaurants for the same money. It is an LKF experience....may be it is nicer in the evening to go for some drinks and a few sushi to nibble.

I...
