Stone Gate is one of the most popular and famous symbol of the Zagreb city Croatian capital and Zagreb center. It is an altar to the mother Mary, St. Mary of Stone's Gate. Don't know a whole story about history like: in which way Mother of God Virgin Maria picture survived the fire which happened in Zagreb in 18th century on upper town but there is an old story about it and Zagreb citizens will tell you . The fact is that Stone Gate is symbol where most of Zagreb and Croatian's citizens like to go and pray to mother Mary. This is the place where you can light up candles and pray for your needs and sufferings! And we believe that Mother listen our prayers. Also you can leave a flowers, mostly roses as a sign of gratitude. I lighted up my candle many times. It is really special feel. So if You ever visit Zagreb go on Stone Gate through Radić street You will see stairs on the right side guiding to the Stone Gate .
Near mother's Mary altar is St. Anthony statue so lilies are flowers which people left as st.Anthony's symbol of purity. If you are a turist, hearty recommend this place for truly peaceful experience no matter are you religious or not. Have a nice day in Zagreb!
