Vincek slastičarnica — Restaurant in City of Zagreb

Extremely rude staff. We waited 30min line to order a cup just to be told that the thing we want is not available in summer although they are explicitly offering it in their menu. While ordering this and getting told that this has never been offered (although we keep coming here every summer and it was always available then) the employees started to laugh at us rudely and offered us a different ice cream of the same flavour. When we then tried to order said ice cream they suddenly said its not available. We were obviously baffled and asked what kind of service this is supposed to be. We then promptly got an answer "we don't really have it easy here aswell". Another cashier lady then said they have this ice cream but they normally don't give it away which makes no sense to me whatsoever. We then got our stuff and sat down. We were furious and were talking about the bad service at the table when suddenly one of the giggling waitresses came over and rudely told us "if you have a problem you might aswell tell it to my face ok?!" and went away. We used to love this place but never in my life have I encountered such a rude, unprofessional and bad staff it's beyond my understanding. I really hope the management of this place takes a look at some of these reviews and take them into consideration because I honestly think this place is going down quick if they keep treating their customers like sh*t.

Time for dessert in Zagreb—and of course, we had our hearts set on Vincek.

As always, they offered a wide variety of ice creams, cakes, and cookies. I went for the classic Zagrebačka krempita, and the rest of the group chose their favorite ice cream flavors.

Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the condition of the place. Inside was uncomfortably hot and humid—except near the ice cream counter. It really took away from the enjoyment of our desserts.

Even more concerning was the cleanliness. Tables were left uncleared, there was ice cream on the floor, and the female washroom had an overflowing garbage bin. We had a guest with us, and this definitely didn’t leave a good impression.

I’ve always loved their desserts, but this visit was disappointing. When food is being served, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment is essential. I hope this was just a one-off, because Vincek is capable of so...

Vincek is the sugar-intake place to go. It enjoys almost a cult status in Croatia and if you want to be regarded as really cool just pop in and eat a quick cake. What's more, they all just taste like your mother's or grandma's cakes, and you are served by an impeccably dressed waitresses and waiters. They are sometimes overrun by people so not always too friendly, but hey, at least they look good. Also, it's really not costly regarding the level of service they provide. Overall, a must go to place. My only wish is that waitresses could be more polite when a manly guy like you tries to order a cake for you and your Valentine. The waitresses were an inch short of calling me gay in front of my girl, being pushed by all the crowd of old ladies who were picking their favorites with a lady-of-steel certainty.
