Delicious cakes in the heart of Zagreb! Local favorite, not just a tourist trap! Stumbled by on a Saturday night and saw a long line for their gelato/ice cream. But our eyes wandered to their beautiful display of cakes. We didn’t understand the labels but the woman behind the counter was friendly albeit busy. With the help of Google and Google Translate’s camera feature, we finally decided upon two cakes - their traditional Croatian cake (airy egg whites and fresh cream, 2€) and a chocolate multilayered cake (2.85€). (The many locals that purchased multiple slices of these cakes also helped us make our decision). They were delicious!! I loved the traditional cake - unique, light and not overly sweet.

What a terrible experience. We ordered 2 x cakes, ice cream and a fruit dessert. The ice cream was good, the cakes 5/10 but the fruit salad was off. The grapes were mouldy and the strawberry (Only one) was so fermented I spat it out and the apple off. The grapes werepushed under the juice so you couldnt see the mould. It was so bad I told one staff member who said, it's not my fault I didnt make it. I thought he may get someone but he didn't. Then I went to the staff at counter and they didn't acknowledge either. It was as if they blamed me for picking the fruit salad. Exceptionally bad customer service and I have thrown better fruit away back home. Such a terrible experience. Would definitely not recommend this place at all.

It is really difficult to choose what to order because everything looks so delicious. They have so many options that will take quite some time to go through them and narrow them down to just one. That is why I usually end up ordering two. Their ice cream options are also excellent, but I never was able to get to them because I always stuff myself with cakes. They raised prices recently, but it is still reasonable. The only problem that this place has is constantly being crowded, so sometimes it is impossible to find a free table to sit down.

Well, I was surprised with overall good reviewes in compare with my experience. We sat there 20 minutes in which 10 mimutes was dirty table from previous guests. Strawberry pie was consisted of crumbled butter pastry without structure with vastly gelatinously thing on top. I am baker as well and the recipe was not performed well. Friend was eating "Ledeni Vjetar" and the color of everything was pale and her words were: other bakery has so much better recipe for the same cake. Bathroom was not functional. Prices are ok.

Vincek is a large cafe, full of people with a great tradition. You can eat typical Croatian sweets and such that you will find in all europe. Very big movement, all fresh, tasty and very sweet. In the week open until 11 pm, if you like sweet and you are in Zagreb you must necessarily bring Vincek. Another attraction is the shortest railway line linking the lower and upper town just around the corner of Vincek👌👌👌 I heard that citizens of Zagreb like very much nugat cake (on photo)

We tried three different cakes. The first two (one with chestnuts and the other with nuts) were flavourless, dry and hard to digest. The Zagrebacka Kremsnita was bad as well. I really don’t understand what other people are appreciating about Vincek’s cakes; probably the aesthetic side? Also, it seems weird to me that they provide glasses of water for free for everyone, as if they know that you’ll be thirtsty as hell after just two bites. Not recommended.
