Kasárna Karlín is a unique hidden gem in the heart of Prague’s Karlín district. Tucked away from the main streets, it’s one of the city’s most authentic hipster spots, offering an incredible outdoor setting with a laid-back, youthful vibe. The venue is known for its excellent selection of ciders, beers, and prosecco—including a refreshing mixed strawberry prosecco, which I tried during a meeting with our client Boris from Inovec Technology, accompanied by my friend Ondra.
The space is multifunctional: you can play volleyball, relax with a drink, or enjoy open-air summer cinema. Despite its popularity, it never felt overcrowded, and the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of life. I hadn’t felt such a genuinely positive vibe in a long time.

Read moreA MUST SEE!! This former military barracks housed 2000 soldiers in 1851 and was used nearly 150 years. Today, it’s a public space complete with volleyball court, open air, cinema, bars, dozens of different areas for seating and hanging out, interactive sculptures. 👶🏽🐶Dog and child friendly. Read moreThis used to be a military barrack, today the building inside is mostly empty, but the big inner courtyard and the side buildings are used for various purposes- bar (best in warm weather, lots of outdoor seating), beach volleyball court with sand in summer/ ice skating rink in the winter, summer cinema with big screen and yellow chill chairs, playground for kids, exhibition space, etc.
In the early afternoon hours it’s a great place with kids, plenty of space for them to play and for you to have a drink and sit back.
From around 6pm onwards the place usually fills up, becomes very lively with people grabbing a drink after work, or coming for a concert in one of the side buildings.
