When I arrived, I was greeted excuses of how my agency double booked the room. The hotel had given away the room I booked even though I booked it 2+ months in advance and paid on time. They did not notify me in any way, even though they had my details, both email and phone number as well as they could have contacted me throught the agency's messaging app.|The receptionist told me not to worry, as "they had remedied my agency's mistakes" and they had booked "a better room" for me, so they sat me and my partner down at a couch and offered us a drink while we wait for the taxi that would take us to the other hotel. To cut a long story short, this whole moving between hotels took about one hour, so by the time we went out all the restaurants were closed and we had to settle for whatever fast food we could find.|The hotel they sent me to was another "Myo" hotel, namely "Myo hotel Mysterious". As for "the better room" they promised, it was 450 sq.ft. as opposed to the 635 sq.ft. I had booked. It had no private patio, as opposed to the one I had booked, it was on the first floor on a very noisy area (as opposed to the top floor I had booked), so we only got a few hours of sleep every night - after 2 o'clock when things became a bit more quiet.|By the next day I had figured out that this is how they fill all their hotels, overselling their most expensive rooms and then sending you to the other "Myo" hotels that don't get full, so I filed a complaint with booking.com and told them the whole story. The agent I spoke to said that they had not been notified and that they would spare no effort to get me compensated for my trouble and the lower quality room I received. Eventually, hotel Caruso rejected any compensation and offered no apology, continuing to claim I received a...
Read moreI would not call this hotel "Boutique", it is a hotel like most others and lacks atmosphere. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. The bar is limited and in the lobby so it feels like a waiting room. The room itself was large with WiFi and Mini bar, There were no extra blankets and in December the bedding provided was not exactly warm enough. The bathroom was OK but a shower over a bath is IMO so out dated. The toiletries and the towels are of poor quality , and the paper hard. Our room was not cleaned daily and at 5 pm the maid came to the door to ask if we needed it cleaning, by this time we had returned to the room and wanted to relax. The breakfast room is small and overcrowded until 10 am, but plenty food on offer. Overall I do not think this hotel is good value for money despite being within walking distance to the old...
Read moreOur stay at Hotel Caruso was an absolute pleasure. Adorned with the very many original paintings and art works, the hotel stands true to the definition of a "boutique" hotel. The location of the hotel is great with respect to proximity to tram/ bus stops and the Old Town Square is also at a walking distance. The hotel stands strong on DEI as well, with all important signs/ room numbers in Braille as well. The Reception Staff (Day (Bahruz)/ Evening (A Lady) /Night Managers (Umang)) were all very courteous and helpful. When the kitchen was closed, the Evening Manager even prepared a cup of coffee and brought it upstairs to our room. We particularly liked the Gentleman and the Lady managing the guests for the Breakfast Buffets, hosting with much warmth and serving with a smile. Would recommend...
