We attend a FREE piano concert (check their website site for programmes)!! It was the debut performance of a student at the Conservatory of Jutland.
Her execution of the pieces must be praised, adhering quite strictly to the tempo and styles of the scores. Especially deserving commendation is her treatment of the lighter parts of Skrjabin’s Sonate no. 4 op. 30. The piano sounded like crystal bells, and she knew her own style well to include 2 songs in her repertoire by this particular composer.
The Beethoven sonata and, in general, her forte notes were slightly bland and lacking in emotion, but starting from the penultimate piece she started to cry and the performance improved significantly from there - she really poured her heart out and the difference is obvious. Read moreVery nice theatre hall. Went for a theatre play containing opera, and the sound quality was surprisingly good. The view from my balcony (right side) was without problems, and before the show I had a nice glass of wine in the bar. Entering the hall was without much waiting in line and I got inside within 5 minutes of waiting. Two minor "areas of improvement" was 1) the bar opened only one hour(ish) before the show, so you can't hang around for long if you've travelled from far away and need a place for a relaxing glass of wine, and 2) there was no notification of the hall doors opening (also, tickets didn't say e.g. "doors open 10 minutes before the show"), so you had to guess when to get ready by the door to...

We had great seats at the side balcony, sound was near perfect, «VIP bar» during the break with wine and snacks (cost DKK 65,- per person and is be bought in advance) and a chance to have a quick chat with the two main performers after the show. And what a show... great singers in front of three excellent musicians!
