uring the last day of my stay in Copenhagen, while exploring the locations we hadn’t yet visited, I came across this striking installation. My inner spirit of protest immediately awoke, and through it I felt my stance against many events and figures come alive.

The installation is located at Dante’s Plads in Copenhagen and was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt. It is part of the work known as “Red Dante / Fuck Q-Park’s P-kælder”, conceived as a protest against the construction of an underground parking facility.

The installation features four busts of Dante, figures in long coats with animal heads, and a giant raised middle finger. These elements together symbolize resistance against the privatization of public space, critique of urban planning driven by commercial interests, and a broader reflection on power, authority, and...

Came across this fantastic sculpture when wandering through the city. Designed by Jens Galschiot, the sculpture does not hold back from getting its views across. There is an information board, but it does not have a translated version. Research shows it was put there to celebrate Dantes 700th anniversary. Either way, it is a brilliant piece of art that is worth a trip to view. There is disability access to...
