This is a quaint privately owned museum and store dedicated to a gemstone unique to DR. Larimar's discovery is relatively recent but is a big deal to Dominicans along with amber. It is beautiful and not crazy expensive. Under USD$100 will get you a small piece...a few hundred will get you a serious piece of jewelry and over $500 for extraordinary pieces. It's special without being formal wear jewelry.
The first floor is a store and Mrs. Puello who attended us was very knowledgeable and kind. Not aggressive at all like other stores we have visited for Larimar. They said if you keep your receipt and ticket you can use it to gain entrance to the Amber...

I forgot the name but there is a place in the colonial zone that cuts shapes and polishes thier own stones. I'd go there if your serious about...
