Honky Tonk Colonial — Hotel in Santo Domingo

The hotel is in a good position, in the nicest part of the Zona Colonial. The room was ok, nothing fancy, the toilet would need some refurbishment, the AC is directly on top of the bed which isn't that healthy (unavoidable having cold air flowing into the bed). The bedding sheets give some sparks time to time due to the different textil material. The quality of the bathroom soap isn't very great but ok. I read people complaining for the noise, this is due to the doors which do not ensure proper insulation; there is no rubber or other kind of draught excluder around the doors. But this is also very common in Santo Domingo. There is no complimentary bottle of water which is a standard nowadays in Dominican Republic; it was a bit tricky as I arrived very late during the day and had no water with me. There is a water dispenser at the reception, but you need to have some sort of container if you want more than just a glass of water to bring into the room. The breakfast was at standard in the area, simple but good. The reception hall where the breakfast is served is full of mosquitos in the morning though. I had to eat fast and go back in the room. Nontheless, it was a satisfactory deal...

I just love the place. It’s very close to to everything you want to see in the old city! No taxi or car needed.everything in walking distance. The rooms are very clean and modern! The architecture of the old town house is spectacular with the patio in the middle 💞 I wish I could have stayed longer. The people that work here are very sweet...

Este hotel pequeño tiene un encanto increíble y una ubicación perfecta, justo en pleno corazón de la zona colonial de Santo Domingo. Desde aquí es súper fácil recorrer todos los rincones históricos durante el día y luego salir a disfrutar de la vida nocturna, que está a un paso. El personal no puede ser más amable; siempre atentos y con una sonrisa, hacen que te sientas muy bienvenido. El desayuno es un verdadero lujo: típico dominicano, con mucha variedad y todo súper fresco. Cada mañana fue un placer disfrutar de sabores auténticos que realmente te hacen conectar con la cultura local. Además, nada más llegar te recibe un mural en la entrada que es toda una joya — digno de pararte un buen rato a descubrir todos sus detalles y dejarte sorprender. Las habitaciones son muy limpias, amplias y lo que me enamoró de verdad fueron los colchones, que te garantizan el descanso, ¡casi no quería levantarme por las mañanas!
