One of the best places, and within the colonial area, to get in touch with local theatre, comedy, and overall artistry. Pretty much always with painting and/or sculpture expositions available as the ones in the pictures. Some COVID-19 sanitation restrictions are still in place and last time I visited, the bar was not opened. Further, given its great location, just across the street you can find local beer and snacks, and within 100m range you can find full restaurant and the Santo Domingo cathedral. I recommend going and before checking online what’s on display for the week. Online ticket purchasing is usually an option and inside the theater, there’s light air conditioning.

This wonderful place is a Cultural Center created by a famous Dominican writer, to host artistic manifestations of different areas. A place where art flows freely. Each year in his gallery there are more than 30 exhibitions of painting and photography, music, ballet, theater, conferences and other cultural expressions are produced. Cultural exchanges with other countries are carried out, their works and exhibitions are carried out in the cities of the interior, presentations to companies are organized. The house is open every day of the year and in its cafe bar the artists meet and the days of the week there is jazz or new song, or night of boleros.

Dominican Republic is the second largest and most diverse Caribbean country, situated just two hours south of Miami, less than four hours from New York and eight hours from most European cities. Known for our warm and hospitable people, Dominican Republic is a destination like no other, featuring astounding nature, intriguing history and rich culture.

Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the north and the Caribbean Sea on the south, our lush tropical island paradise boasts nearly 1,000 miles (1,609 km) of coastline, 250 miles (402 km) of the world’s top beaches, magnificent resorts and hotels, and a variety of sports, recreation and entertainment options. Here you can dance to the pulse pounding thrill of the merengue, renew in our luxurious and diverse accommodations, explore ancient relics of centuries past, delight in delicious Dominican gastronomy or enjoy ecotourism adventures in our magnificent national parks, mountain ranges, rivers,...
