I would definitely give this place a 5/5 for creativity and presentation - the food presents amazing and is really inviting. However, even though the presentation is amazing, the taste is underwhelming to say the least. With every bite you take - you will crave a bit more intensity or punch to the taste and the bites leave you teasing for taste and flavor. I really wish the chef reviews the taste/flavor aspects of their food and add the missing intensity and punch and the wow factor. Another issue we had with this place was that our choice was pretty limited since six of their menu items were unavailable when we visited. After getting over the disappointment of not being able to order dishes we wanted to and since it was already late in the evening, we decided to stay and ordered Basmati Chofan, Fideos Se Arroz and Taco Naam. The presentation for all the three dishes was top notch and was very inviting. Everything tasted good but we really had make our palate work for it. If you are planning to visit, I recommend checking with them the dishes they are serving prior to making your plans. The location is great, very close to the main square and they have great outdoor and indoor...
Read moreI went here three times during my stay in the DR as I found it difficult to find good vegetarian food and the food here is also amazing. It is a bit on the expensive side but the ingredients are fresh and the menu is so varied you don’t even know what to order. I had the ni arepa ni croqueta twice since I really liked the taste and the sauce. I also tried the four cheese gnocchi, and the sobres de quesos criollos which were both wonderful. The tortilla soup was different from how I know it but very flavourful (I ordered it with cheese) and so filling. The only let down was the Fideos de Arroz. I read other reviews that mirrored what I thought: tasteless, missing flavour and a kick. I was so curious because it looks delicious and the ingredients sound good as well. I used a lot of salt to get some taste but I didn’t enjoy it much. The waitresses and waiters are very attentive and friendly, I always felt welcomed. In short, if you are looking for super delicious vegetarian food that lets you chose between many different flavours, then this is your spot! (just don’t order the...
Read moreBetter than expected in terms of food quality and decor, this is an upscale lacto vegetarian restaurant catering to a more affluent clientele.
We had the endive salad (not bad), cauliflower steak in mole sauce (quite good although I am partial to a more savory mole), the ramen (quite good but not ramen - more of a Thai thom kha khai), and the ravioli which were out of this world. Add two green juices and a bottle of sparking water. The total: $75.
The service was attentive, but a bit clueless in terms of explaining the menu (might have been easier if we were fluent in Spanish). At some point, s better English speaker showed up, but we were done ordering by that time.
The menu could have been better organized, it was impossible to tell what was a small plate or appetizer and what a main course.
Overall, a very pleasant if quite...
