1. There is no elevator. I was travelling with a heavy suitcase and it was inconvenient to lift it up and down the stairs to the third floor. 2. There is no hot water. I was invited to a wedding and I needed to bath before and after the event. I couldn't because there was no hot water. I asked the staff three times to do something. Each time they told me that they were investigating the issue, but there was no hot water and that's the worst part. 3. There is no drinking water. I needed to go to the store or go down to the restaurant just to drink water. 4. The description said there was a table in the room, but there was no table I needed. 5. There is no iron. I planned to iron my clothes and I couldn't do that either. 6. The wallpaper in the room looks terrible and is already peeling off, but this is a small thing compared to the fact that there was no hot water. 7. The sheet had a stain on it. 8. Extremely thin walls. You can hear EVERYTHING from other rooms and the hallway.

You can't beat the location. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were what we expected. With the location comes the noise; especially weekends and at 7:30am with the leaf blowers. We expected that and so therefore had no problems with it. Rooms with balconies offer amazing views. Our only surprise was how thin the walls are. We could easily hear our neighbors in rooms next door. TV didn't really show any channels (or we just didn't know how to work it) but it didn't matter since we were always out and about. Free wifi. Free morning coffee in the lobby. Overall, fantastic stay. Would love to stay again on future visits to Santo Domingo and we'd highly recommend it to friends and family.

Beautiful old historic hotel with excellent restaurant. It is very clean, staff is very polite and helpful but the hotel is located in a very noisy area. For anyone not accustomed to city noise, this place will not be suitable. The party atmosphere at the adjoining Columbus park will go full force until about 10pm but there will still be people singing and other music playing until late at night. It is a wonderful hotel if you like city noise until very late at night. If quiet surroundings are your preference, then I suggest you find alternate accommodations.

It definitely has one of the best locations in the centre of the town, with a restaurant right below the hotel. The rooms are renovated and are very pretty and spacious. The breakfast offered by the hotel is expensive and poor in nutrition and quantity for what I paid. If you want to sleep in the morning until late, this is not your hotel, as this is right next to the main colonial square and people scream and many sing in the morning right outside your window.||Cleanliness should be improved, COVID protocols are non existent here. Upon your arrival, a security person comes to your room and shows you around the room. Instead of asking, they kind of impose for this person to go with you. As a solo female traveler, I found this extremely uncomfrotable. It was invasive to both my privacy and I was concern as he literally touched EVERYTHING he wanted to show around the room, when they should be careful as ALLEGEDLY there should be more attention paid to disinfection and cleanliness with the COVID situation, specially in a country that has such a high rate of infected people. ||I also had some misunderstandings with the front desk as I asked for a receipt in the beginning of the trip and at the end they said they could not do what I was asking for.||I am still waiting for them to send me one of the receipts she forgot to give me at the end...

You just can't beat the location. It is in the heart of Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo, right next to the Parque Colon and the Cathedral, in a safe area patrolled by police and convenient to all "old town" sights. The hotel restaurant is next door with a good view of the park and plaza. Front desk is manned 24/7 and front door is always locked for security, so desk clerks will buzz you in. Staff is bilingual English/Spanish, very friendly, and go out of their way to assist.||Rooms are cleaned daily and air conditioning is individually controlled, with a vent in the ceiling right over the bed! I slept blissfully. Note that there is no elevator but staff will assist with baggage. They will also help with arranging airport transportation for you, a relief when traveling to a foreign country.||All the staff were great--Jose, Daniel, and especially Rafael. This hotel is located right on the pedestrian cobblestone "walking street" so, as I said, you can't beat the location. And a local supermarket (Nacional) is just two blocks away if you want to buy beverages or try some local dishes (I recommend "majarete," a corn pudding sold in their bakery area, which cost one dollar vs. five at a restaurant!). Prices are a bargain if you reserve in advance.||Gracias Hotel Conde! I'll certainly stay here again if I return to...
