Don't try to use their website for purchasing tickets unless you can read Estonian. If you try to complete the purchase on the website using English when you enter your card details, thenget to the point completing the purchase, the web page switches to Estonian. Then you won't understand your supposed to click some non-existent button on the page to return to the vendor's web site, otherwise you won't get your tickets. We tried 3 times to buy tickets and finally went across the lobby to speak to the hotel staff. "Jane" could see I attempted a purchase, but told me I had to come back later to get my tickets. When we returned later, a tour group was checking in at the hotel. I waited in line to speak to "jane" about my tickets. When it was my turn to talk to her regarding our tickets, she just walked...

Incredible and informative tour by Margit—worth every penny for me! Margit was an extremely engaging and informative guide who shared a lot of interesting historical information as well as personal anecdotes which really made the history come to life. It was a small group, which I think added to the experience. The museum itself is very small, but gives a very interesting snapshot as to what life was like in Soviet Estonia at the time. The view during the tour is likely also one of the best in Tallinn, in my opinion. If you are not as interested in learning about the history of Soviet Estonia and at this hotel, in particular, it may not be for you, but I found it extremely interesting, especially with...

My family and I visited the museum on 8th July and ONCE inside we thought it was very interesting and informative. The young female ticket seller at the reception desk however, should not be allowed to be public facing....Rude, ignorant and unwelcoming would probably accurately describe her without going into great insulting detail. Indeed I was amazed we as a group didn't about turn and walk out, such was her attitude towards us and other customers. (Though looking back now with some amusement, we thought with hindsight that she was actually a good KGB fit and in keeping with the venue). Having ventured thus far to Tallinn, we weren't going to let this individual cause us to miss out. Beware...

The museum itself was practically 2 rooms but there were stuff from that era. Our tour guide Pavel or Pasha brought all the history to life. Guide and teacher in profession he knew very well what to say and how to say it. I thought 1hour would be a long time with baby but I lost track of time. 1h felt like 20 minutes. From history to funny daily facts this tour was truly amazing. The cost was 15€ and is not included in museum card (probably also not in Tallinn card as well) but it is worth it. The view from there was really beautiful and unique since there are not many places where you can watch Tallinn from that high level.

If you’re a history buff (especially espionage and Cold War era) then you’ll enjoy this museum. Young people might yawn and pull at their parents’ sleeves (Cold War? What?) but this hotel has done a great job of preserving an actual KGB listening station that was abruptly abandoned by the KGB — everything is left exactly as the officers left it, including paperwork, ashtrays, radio equipment and a sleeping cot. The view from the top of the hotel is worth admission itself. Excellent guide as well! Please note that during high season the tours get booked quickly and you can’t just show up. Reservations are required.

Sadly the sources where I got my information from the opening times and address do not mention you have to book in advance to visit. Typical KGB diplomacy, deception and smoke screens. I got this booking in advance information from the staff at the lobby of the hotel that houses the museum. I was told told that it is even smaller then the KGB prison museum, which is small. So I did not make a appointment. Hopefully The KGB will not pay me a visit at my airbnb for not going to their museum. Just incase I bought a wig and a fake mustache and will talk with a australian accent.
