Lousy. They only informed us the Google map place changed to Santa claus village for the ride on the ticket via email. We are first time here how do we know we are not even in Santa Claus village as it is so huge and we booked on bearhill so we googled bearhill as per their location. It would be a different story if we booked directly with SCV even the person there told us to contact bearhill. if you are not careful to read all the T&C you are screwed. My family was so disappointed as we were at Santa Claus village and saw the husky ride and were told to go to bearhill. Funny how no signage whatsoever to inform us that it wasn't at bearhill but back at SCV instead!! Our car got stuck on the way there and booking was automatically cancelled as a no show even though we were 1 min away and asked for help maybe we could hop on a shuttle bus I called to get an address to get a uber/taxi to get on our way to the ride and settle the car later as it take sometime for the towing company to arrive. The address is in middle of nowhere only a postcode cost us 270euros for a tow. Our ride was in 1 hour and I have called to inform them of our situation. Bad customer service. Didn't help much but told us if we didn't arrive on time it would be a no-show and it was our fault that we didn't read the email properly that it would be at Santa Claus village. which we were there and told to get to...
Read moreWe did the Bear Hills Santa Husky Ride which I booked in advance. Everyone in these groups rave about the husky rides. I felt certain it wasn't going to be my highlight and instead I was looking forward to the reindeer sleigh ride much more but now I've done it I totally get it! Oh my goodness I was completely blown away! It was out of this world incredible! We did a 2.5km ride which lasted about 12 minutes. The musher was fantastic and spoke to us throughout the ride with my children and my husband and I asking questions and chatting about the dogs. Afterwards we were able to pet the resting dogs too and then we went into a little wooden grillkota cabin to warm up with some hot glogi and gingerbread biscuits while another staff member answered more questions and spoke to our family for a long time about all things husky! I highly recommend Bear Hill Husky. They are well renowned for the exceptional care they give their huskies and they are so knowledgeable and friendly too. It doesn't feel gimiky or touristy. The Santa Husky ride was a great length for our first time and I'd highly recommend it, it felt like much better value for money than the reindeer sleigh ride. Next time we'll definitely go to the Bear Hill Husky main kennel and do a much longer ride, possibly a full day one as we loved it so much. I'd go as far as to say next time we'll build our entire trip...
Read moreA Memorable Husky Experience with Some Drawbacks
Sunday 09 Mar 2025 had the opportunity to visit Bearhill Husky during my trip to Lapland, and while there were certainly highlights, my experience was a mix of positives and drawbacks.
First and foremost, the husky ride itself was an incredible experience! The dogs were well cared for, and it was heartwarming to see the staff feeding and giving them water. The ride through the snowy landscape was breathtaking, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The staff were kind and knowledgeable, adding to the overall charm of the experience.
However, I couldn’t help but feel that the overall trip was quite expensive for what you get. Husky ride at the Santa Claus Village for 2.5km is €100 for 1 adult and 1 child Duration: 30 minutes Lapland itself is very pricey, but even the shops seem overpriced. I had a certain vision of Lapland in my mind, and while the husky experience was a highlight, the high costs somewhat dampened the magic. If you’re looking for a memorable husky adventure, Bearhill Husky is a great choice. Just be prepared for...
