They have ruined a once great staple of the Chamonix valley. Previously the luge was included on the ski pass (one ride per day), and was much quieter. The current luge is inundated with tourists, not to mention extremely overpriced. However, that is not the biggest problem. The introduction of self-braking cars to remove the old ones has ruined the luge. The old ones were completely functional and enabled people to control their speed according to their confidence and ability. The dangers were also limited by the ability to wait at the top for a gap if you were intending not to brake. Now the luge just feels like a lame rollercoaster, with your speed entirely controlled by the cars. The light system at the top no longer works. I’m also sure this has led to an increase in technical failures. It has lost what made it so good to begin with. Go to the Accro park instead for a real...

Read moreI am a big scaredy cat who is not very good at skiing, but I do enjoy basic skiing. This place was a great place to do it. They have 3 bunny slopes (one just for very young kids, a very easy bunny slope, a more challenging bunny slope), a blue piste, and a red piste. I like the blue because I could practice without there being a big dropoff on one side of the hill like there are on other blues. Because it is a very simple skiing area, a day pass is very affordable (19.50€ for an adult day pass). Each lift ticket includes a free ride on the luge coaster. It is comparable in speed and complexity of the track to a mine train coaster, except instead of traveling through fake mines, you travel through trees and hills...
