They have ruined a once great staple of the Chamonix valley. Previously the luge was included on the ski pass (one ride per day), and was much quieter. The current luge is inundated with tourists, not to mention extremely overpriced. However, that is not the biggest problem. The introduction of self-braking cars to remove the old ones has ruined the luge. The old ones were completely functional and enabled people to control their speed according to their confidence and ability. The dangers were also limited by the ability to wait at the top for a gap if you were intending not to brake. Now the luge just feels like a lame rollercoaster, with your speed entirely controlled by the cars. The light system at the top no longer works. I’m also sure this has led to an increase in technical failures. It has lost what made it so good to begin with. Go to the Accro park instead for a real...

One stop shop to get your winter adventures going...did not try the other stations. Had lessons for 🏂 and ⛷️ for the young ones. Best to book in advance online as the queue can get very long...they are flexible and can help convert your lesson credits. (Pictures according to description below)

The winter eqpt shop is also near and you can rent it throughout. Mornings are the best, it gets busier and busier throughout the day!!! (See Queue outside rental shop at noon!!) You will need to get Skipass if you are doing any lessons inside, available in a small kiosk at the entrance of village after the carpark, keep the cards as the cost 3€ and can be topped up daily. Special pricing for kids 14 and below.

Good start here for lessons but do go up to Brevent for your last or last few lessons. View there is excellent!!! And ask for "Beginners Pass" @ Brevent, it is cheaper than the...

I am a big scaredy cat who is not very good at skiing, but I do enjoy basic skiing. This place was a great place to do it. They have 3 bunny slopes (one just for very young kids, a very easy bunny slope, a more challenging bunny slope), a blue piste, and a red piste. I like the blue because I could practice without there being a big dropoff on one side of the hill like there are on other blues. Because it is a very simple skiing area, a day pass is very affordable (19.50€ for an adult day pass). Each lift ticket includes a free ride on the luge coaster. It is comparable in speed and complexity of the track to a mine train coaster, except instead of traveling through fake mines, you travel through trees and hills...

The Luge Alpine Coaster at Les Planards is an absolute must-try if you’re in Chamonix! Located near the town center, it’s easy to access and perfect for some family-friendly fun. The track is about 1,300 meters long and features exciting jumps, twists, and turns that make the ride both thrilling and enjoyable. What I loved most is that it’s suitable for all ages and skill levels. You can ride solo or in pairs, and you control the speed with hand brakes—so you can go as fast or as slow as you like. It’s a great activity for kids and adults alike, and the beautiful alpine setting makes it even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun, adventurous experience in Chamonix!

Nice amusement area with many activities to keep the kids and parents pleasantly occupied for a few hours. The key activity is the self breaking roller coaster that can be used independently by an adult or accompanied by a parent/adult the younger kids. This is the main reason to go there and you must try it, it's great! The parking is really difficult and if you can use any other means of transportation is a good idea. The activities are some OK some nicer but are all quite expensive. So, consider buying combo packets since the price is much better! For the battery charged vehicles make sure the green light is on and not the red otherwise you will pay and you will not receive any ride.
