I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration with the unacceptable conditions aboard the train departing from Chamonix to Vallorcine at 18:37 today. The experience was not only poorly managed but outright unsafe and inconsiderate for passengers, particularly families.

The train was grossly overbooked, with at least double the capacity of passengers. My family, including three children, was unable to find seats and had to stand for the entire journey. Most concerning was my wife, who was forced to carry our baby on her shoulder throughout the trip. This caused her significant physical strain, leading to severe back pain and fatigue by the end of the journey.

Such overcrowding demonstrates a clear lack of planning and oversight by your team, prioritizing ticket sales over passenger safety and comfort. This is unacceptable, especially for families and vulnerable individuals traveling on your service.

Chamonix is an incredible city in the Alps! It's famous for its great food, offering a variety of options to enjoy local specialities and drinks, many cable cars rides (Brevent and Aguille du Midi are the most popular), walking and hiking trails, welcoming local people, and marvellous outdoors scenery! There are also plenty of hotels and spa resorts to choose for your stay, and it is only 1 hour and a half away from Geneve Airport by car or shuttle - it's the best option at the moment because trains take too long (3 hours and a half, approximately)! Chamonix also have huge sports centres for those who look for indoors activities, and you'll easily find ski schools, if you're a beginner! My spouse was in Chamonix during the last third week in March (still winter) for a conference and I accompanied her. We were looking for something to do and this activity was recommended. The railway ride was nice but, at times, visibility was poor because of fog or blowing snow. As others have mentioned, the number of steps to the ice caves in the glacier (sea of ice) are almost 500. Going down to the ice caves is not bad. The return can be difficult. Plan to stop several times to catch your breath during the return trip.
