Azur Meublé — Hotel in Grasse

I booked a two night stay here for late July 2016 almost 6 months prior, as a pre-stay for a booked tour of France. Unfortunately, the operator cancelled 4 months prior to the tour and I had expedia contact the owner, Pastel Muller, who promised he would only hold 30% as a penalty, as he initially had a 50% penalty fee regardless of when the cancellation occurred. After I accepted his offer, he went back on his word and charged me an entire 50% (~125.00 Euros). I have since sent him multiple emails over the 4 month period and have called multiple times to the business to no avail and with no response, even after leaving messages with employees for him to return my call. Expedia has also attempted to contact him multiple times and has also been skirted.|| I am not upset about the ridiculous 50% cancellation penalty that exists even with 4 months notice. What I am most concerned about is the discourteous, unprofessional and dishonest tactics used by this company. Beware! I've been staying there for two weeks and I don't regret I've chosen this place. The room was big enough for two, with a fully equipped kitchenette (one thing - there was no teapot/kettle). The bathroom was a bit too tiny, though. The window faced rue D'Antibes and it was really noisy at night (everyone rides a motorbike, so it made it worse + crowds outside the cinema). Also, the lock on the front door was a bit tricky. But the great location: beaches are within a 5 min walk, a market and shopping streets are just around the corner and a reasonable price are what makes me recommend this place. The most important factor for us when traveling to Cannes was location. This was one of the cheapest B&B we found in Cannes which was located right in the city center. However, it's situated right above cinema so crowds gathering downstairs may be loud, so are garbage trucks passing under the window few times every early morning. Our room was furbished with kitchenette, bed and one wardrobe. Yet, it seemed very aged, especially bathroom needs overhauling. You need to bring your own towels, take out garbage and clean the place when you leave, otherwise you are charged extra.
