It's a very charming Italian restaurant, nestled at the foot of Sainte Geneviève Cathedral, a stone throw away from the Pantheon, in a picturesque little street of the Latin.Quarter. a beautiful, intimate terrace, and lots of flowery creepers make.ot an ideal place to stop on a hot summer day. We stopped there around 16h00, famished after a day of strolling around, and attracted by an enticing specials board, and the "service continu" sign. Well, we quickly found out that continu did not encompass 16h00, that the cook was on a break, and that only pizza could be served. We nevertheless decided to stay. We had two absolutely delicious pizzas, the crust was thin, with a perfect mix of chewiness and crispness , each ingredient fresh, tasty and obviously home made, washed down by glasses of delicious italian wines. The tiramisu was to die for, and the coffee very italianserci e was quick,.friendly and knowledgeable. Altogether a very good experience, and we are looking forward to tasting the rest of the menu on...
Read moreThis restaurant is a true gem in Paris when it comes to Italian food. It sits on a cobbled road leading to the famous Pantheon. I have dined here a few times. I truly enjoyed their food. Nothing ever disappointed me so far. There might be more exquisite Italian food options in Paris or elsewhere, but you would be hard pressed to find a better place at their prices. Along with Casa di Peppe, they have the best Neapolitan pizza in Paris. But their main courses and appetizers are also equally good.
It usually gets pretty crowded and loud during lunch time, and you should expect the sitting area to be really packed. I honestly think that the service staff manage the rush hours pretty well.
I think the average grade (4.6) on google reviews is justified, so I will round it up to the closest integer and...
Read moreWe managed to walk up and get a table, lucky us the place was full by the time we left. We stared with the stuffed zucchini flowers which were delicate and tasty. I had the Neopolitan pizza which another reviewer described as the best in Paris, I’d be hard pressed to disagree it was awesome! No cheese just sauce, olives, capers and anchovies on the perfect crust it was pure bliss, like being in Italy again. My wife had the 4-Cheese ravioli and my daughter had the spaghetti, both tasted home-made. Highly recommend La Capannina. Very friendly service too and just a minute from...
