Very disappointing experience. Experiencing our first restaurant in Paris and was very excited to try this place since our Uber driver stated that a lot of the restaurants near the Eiffel Tower were high quality.
The food was great, however, the reason why I'm giving my rating an overall 1 star (I would give it a -100 if there was an option to do so) is the attitude of your employee, Alexis and the other colleague that was working that day and time.
I have friends who are from France and after discussing this with them, it was obvious that this behavior is unacceptable.
For starters, I specifically asked for tap water but instead he decided to bring over a 25 CL Vittel. I understand I'm a tourist and I will get upsold at times but this was the beginning of my concern here. You would never do this to a French local due to this going against your law for restaurants having to offer tap water.
This was not the part that bothered me the most. The unacceptable behavior came from him and his colleague's inattentiveness to serve our table. When I was done with my beverages, I was getting very thirsty. Even though I tried to get one of the server's attention respectfully, Alexis' colleague got annoyed and told me to wait for Alexis. This is very confusing to me. As a server, aren't you supposed to work as a team ? This is my first time ever witnessing this and I travel internationally quite often.
At this point, I was patiently waiting. After multiple attempts of trying to get Alexis' attention, he kept ignoring us purposely. Later on, my mother was almost choking on her food due not having access to a drink. She waited for a good 5-10 minutes and after being ignored (literally Alexis would directly ignore us. This was not even a subtle ignoring behavior as if he didn't see us), my mother got up from her seat to finally get his attention to get more water. Alexis literally had his back turned against her and instead of acknowledging her, he made her stand there for over a minute. SHE WAS LITERALLY STANDING RIGHT BEHIND HIM and he did this ! I still can't believe this level of disrespectful behavior !
Later on, we get the check. He comes by and he suggests that I leave a tip. He starts telling me, " What is it going to be ? 5 ? 10? 1 million ? " and starts smiling. I understand that Paris doesn't have a tipping culture and I was more than happy to leave a very good tip if I received excellent service which is something that I always do wherever I go. However, due to this unacceptable poor level of customer service, I declined and told him that I do not want to leave him a tip. He got very upset, hurried and shoved the receipt in front of me and took off bad mouthing me in French to his colleague as they were both laughing.
Dear restaurant owner, this is unacceptable behavior. I don't know where in the world would this level of disrespect towards a client ever be tolerated. This is shameful behavior and this needs to be brought to everyone's attention.
I am going to attach a picture of the receipt just incase he denies that he wasn't the server to help me that day as proof that this occurred. As shown, that was the exact time and date this transaction was processed.
After going through multiple "tourist trap reviews" It is evident to me that a client named "Jamie Nguyen" also experienced the same unacceptable behavior from Alexis as we did. Dear restaurant owner, please do us a favor and get this taken care of for us. Alexis is hurting your business. This is embarrassing unacceptable behavior...
Read moreI stopped by on August 11th last day of the Olympics with both me , my friend and our two 5 year old daughters. It was 96 degrees out and we were extremely dehydrated after walking around the Eiffel Tower. We found this spot and thought it would be great to take the girls in because they had been walking a lot and was both thirsty and hungry. Upon entering we were automatically sat in the back when there was outside dining. We were the only ones placed inside which seemed strange to me. We were sitting for 40’minutes before I had to ask to atleast give us something to drink . When the food arrived it was not at all appealing and we didn’t eat it. I asked to speak to the manager about the service because I didn’t help but to notice we were being left out. Manager proceeded to tell me I was only there for 30 minutes which was a LIE. We sat and waiting for 40 minutes before I could even say something about a beverage, and even that took an additional 10 minutes. Shortly after another group of people that were not our color sat down and was tended to IMMEDIATELY so the excuse of it being to busy as they stated wasn’t true they just didn’t want to serve, I’d never been to a place where I felt so uncomfortable and discriminated against. When standing to leave a older man grabs my attention to advise me he notice what they were doing is wrong and we were there before him and we still weren’t served. So to sum this review up if u are BLACK with children...
