Parmigiano — Restaurant in Cologne

I’ve ordered Bruschetta with tomato and mozzarella, and the attached picture is the bruschetta we have got, it was so bad, the cheese on top was not even close to mozeralla, it was anything but mozzarella, bread wasn’t even toasted, there were no olive oils on bruschetta. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a chef, guru or something but I believe everyone can understand the quality.

Pizza was not the best, its most likely had tomato sauce from supermarket.

Service was slow it took 27 min for our orders to come (2 Pizza and 1 Bruschetta) and one of the pizzas was wrong.

The kind of average thing we have experienced is the atmosphere in the backyard.

Manager was super helpful and smiley, but other staff was like other customers who came to dinner lmao, they don’t look at your table, table wasn’t clean once we came and we asked for him/her to clean it up and he/she cleaned it but I mean the face itself describes him/her thoughts. And once again staff is pretending to be looking around but they don’t actually.

Don’t know how this place 4.3 point in Google.

We’ve been to Parmigiano for several times already. Pinocchio (take away pizza outside) is always nice, and we wanted to try the restaurant part.

The food is always very nice, if the review is about the food only, I will gladly give 5 stars.

The problem is the service part. There are some nice staff, and for the first visit we were lucky (the first time was in the evening). After that, we’ve been able to go only in lunch time, and the service is horrific. Especially, a straight blond hair lady is really terrible. When we asked for something, there were 3 staff near by, and all of them heard us. Two of them said OK, and only that lady immediately said NO to us. Since the rest two told us OK, they did us the favor, but she kept complaining to us about one thing and another.

One time, we finished eating, and she came for the payment. Since our plan didn’t work as expected, we had to discuss about the payment for 10 seconds. And she literally asked us “so are you paying your tips or not?” That was extremely rude.

Today we chose the inner table because she was attending the terrace. The whole experience was slightly better.

I would go back only if there is not...

We had been several times to "Pinocchio" the pizzeria run by the restaurant - and that in itself is a different class of pizza, when compared to options in Cologne. However, we had always been enticed and curious about giving the main restaurant a chance - and boy, if we're not glad we did. The food and the place look very simple and homey, reminding you of a family-run Trattoria anywhere in Italy. But the food did that feeling absolute justice. Everything we ordered was on the money - bruschetta, Cannelloni (both the seasonal vegetarian option, as well as their regular menu beef option as well), which came even with complimentary breadlings as a side. The service was top notch, friendly and attentive. In a nutshell, it is not a fancy restaurant, but the food quality makes up for it at a more than reasonable price point. We will be gladly coming...
