Kunibert der Fiese — Hotel in Cologne

I only which I’d discovered this little darling of a place at the beginning of my trip, rather than at the end.||||It was a completely random booking online for a place to stay on the last night of my trip around Germany as I had a flight from Cologne airport the next day.||||What I will say to start with is, if you are going to read the reviews of this place, please bear in mind that many of the negative reviews relate to people’s dining experiences in the adjoining restaurant and have nothing to do with the hotel itself. They didn’t even stay there, they just didn’t like their meal and unfortunately have posted their reviews in the wrong place. There are two listings for this business. One is a restaurant, the other a hotel.||||Easy to find and in an absolutely BEAUTIFUL location right on the river next to the cathedral. I had a single room on the top floor. Check in was quick and easy and the lift saved me 4 flights of stairs which was super useful.||||The room made me smile as soon as I opened the door. You can immediately see and smell the cleanliness of the place the moment you arrive. My room was gleaming and smelled absolutely gorgeous. This is a family run hotel that is clearly loved and taken care of.||||I had a single room which was really big. It had a huge window letting in lots of light, full wardrobes, a superb bathroom and shower with lots of hot water and most importantly, the comfiest bed that I slept in for my entire trip. I wish so much that I had found this place first! I had the best nights sleep here of my entire trip and would recommend this hotel to anyone in Cologne. I’d also rather give my money to a local family run business than a large chain.||||I can absolutely promise that you’ll love this place. It’s like being at home, whilst you’re away. Stayed here with my wife and son whilst we had a festive trip to Cologne. The hotel is in perfect spot, being located just between the Rhein, the dom and the old town. We found it ideal as it was just a few minutes walk to get to the two big Christmas markets there, plus the fabulous Peters Brauhaus is on the same street.||We found the staff at the hotel friendly and welcoming, they helped upon our early arrival and let us leave our cases there as we had a late flight home. We only used the attached restaurant a couple of times but again, the staff there were friendly and attentive. They made a fabulous effort with our three year old boy.||The facilities were good, the triple room we stayed in was comfortable and we didn’t have any issues...

We were super happy with our room at Kunibert der Fiese in Cologne city centre. We stayed in room 38 on the 3rd floor and to be honest.... we were expecting a bad nights sleep in the noisy city centre...

We were pleasantly surprised though! It was a Monday but we had the window wide open all night and the fan on (there's no air con) but wasn't bad tbh. The bed's were soooooooo comfy too! I had an amazing sleep 😍 still don't know how I ended up in the single bed though 🤣

Would definitely stay here again. The staff were lovely, the rooms clean and bedding/towels nice and fresh.

Great location too near lots of bars/ restaurants and the train station. Good price for...
