We recently had a very good experience in another restaurant with ordering food at service terminals, so when we arrived and the waiter pointed to the screens we were confident. We chose a place to sit and went for the terminals, which were all broken?! We had to queue to get drinks, once we had the drinks we had to queue for food. All the queues were rather long and it wasn't clear where you had to stand for pasta, salad or pizza. So rather than being able to enjoy a drink together, take the weight off your feet after sightseeing and wait for your food to be prepared, you had to queue for ages. We took it in turns standing in the queue (even tried standing in two queues in the hope of getting to our food quicker) but gave up waiting to order the food once we had finished our large (!) drinks. Felt really sorry for the staff behind the counters they were working flat out - taking orders and cooking to order in front of all the waiting customers. We cannot rate the food as we never got to try it but still wouldn't recommend this restaurant, just not...
Read moreWe were extremely uncomfortable with the service. At first we didn't understand how the ordering works, and the man at the front desk (I wouldn't call him a waiter) failed at explaining us the system, which led to confusion and major inconvenience. I thought I ordered pasta bolognese, and at this point I would mention that in no point of the ordering process did they specify (or show in the meal picture) that it comes with cheese, which is important since I have a bit of an intolerance for milk. So to my big surprise, when I went to pick up my dish, it was overflowing with Parmesan. I had to remove the cheese. The dish itself was extremely underwhelming, and while it was supposed to be containing beef, I don't think I tasted a whole 5 grams of meat in the dish. The pasta was very sticky and hard to eat. Added a photo of the pasta stuck all together. I didn't enjoy my eating experience at all, and on top of that, the cheap "service" didn't help. Would not recommend if you expect a...
Read moreI went here for a dinner snack around Christmas time and I was just shocked in what a bad shape Vapiano has fallen into. I consider myself a Vapiano fanboy of the first hour. I went to one of the first Vapianos in Germany ever, at some point even 4 days per week, because I loved the place so much. But holy moly, this was such a poor experience: when we went there was no show cooking, instead we were seated by one of 2 (!) waiters that evening. Vapiano is not exactly known for their romantic seating arrangements, so I really don't understand what they are trying to achieve. The waiters were trying, but were obviously overworked. We waited a long time for ordering and equally long to get our dishes. The food is still quite good, but very overpriced, considering service and atmosphere of a train station waiting room. The rotten basil on the table was the tip of the iceberg and a fantastic metaphor for their lack of attention to their own concept and state of quality. NOT...
