Came to this tourist trap since we were on a tight schedule and desperate. We were ignored at the door multiple times, not knowing how to get seated. The man kept shoving us past us and had no regard for their customers. Then a lady showed us a table and chucked the menus on the table. The menus were in german, but since the restaurant is in a tourist spot, we thought it would be better to have an english version. Nonetheless, we google translated it and ordered. We asked for apfelschlore and it tasted like dirt water from a river. We also asked if we were allowed to have some tap water and the lady made the most silly excuse, saying that water is only for wine because they have a special filter??? It’s not hard to serve water, and we eventually did get tap water so clearly wanted us to order wine since it’s a tourist trap. The food came quickly, and immediately we were swarmed with flies, and the only thing they could do was to watch us suffer and smile. Imagine the sheer number of flies that were in the kitchen!! We know it was out of their control but we could not enjoy our meal. Talking about the meal, the food was absolute garbage. Octopus, which they said they were ‘well-known for’ was overcooked, and the tafelspitz was disgusting, cold and slimy with some sour cold sauce on the bottom. It was completely inedible, and you would think that would be the bare minimum when the prices were outrageous (around €30 for the 2 legs of octopus). We wanted to pay, and that was swiftly done. We were not shown any receipt and we paid an extortion price for what we received. It was disgusting and I warn anyone going there to stay away since it is...
Read moreThe Frank Weinbar is a charming bistro-type wine bar offering regional food and wines from Franconia, a region of Bavaria. The ambient is very pleasant and invites you to remain for hours. The service was kind and attentive. The wine bar offers a wide variety of wines and decent food, considering that this is not a restaurant but a wine bar. We had excellent beef tartar and squid tentacles, which were ok. The prices of the food are justified for its quality. However, the wine is overpriced (e.g., 20€ for 0,15 ml) compared to other locations or wines from different regions or countries. Nevertheless, this place is pleasant for an enjoyable evening with friends and discovering...
