The Abid Efendi bathhouse, dating back to the period of Turkish rule in Athens, was used in its original form until 1870. During renovations that year, European-style baths were added, and its operations were restructured. In this new form, the bathhouse remained active until 1956. Today, the building is a museum known as the "Bathhouse of the Winds," which you can visit for an entry fee of €3. During your visit, you can learn about the functioning of a small Turkish bath and how European-style baths operated here after the 1870 renovations.

We went in museum in summer 2020! That year it was lucky to get away and have brilliant time in Athens! It was spontaneous trip because I mixed the ferry and accidentally we arrived in Athens!!! Memory for life! Museum was on the our walk so we just came in and enjoyed. Clean, informative and historical.

This is another of the three venues making the Museum of Modern Greek Culture, formerly the Greek Folk Art Museum. I found this venue to be the most difficult to find (I do not use GPS!). A nearby shopkeeper walked me to the correct street. This museum is really delightful in a former 19th century public bath. The building has been carefully restored. I wish some visual images would have been added to enhance the visitor experience. On the other hand, this is another venue into which interventions by contemporary artists have been installed. A nice use of the space. I think the lady at the ticket office was ready for the...
