Anefani in Athens is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the beautiful and inviting ambiance. The warm lighting, tasteful decor, and cozy setting created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing evening. It strikes a great balance between elegance and comfort, making it ideal for both casual outings and special gatherings.
We were a large group and decided to share three different platters, which gave us the chance to try a wide variety of dishes. First, we started with the variety of dips, which included tzatziki, tyrokafteri, tarama, and aubergine salad, served with warm Greek pita bread. Every dip was fresh and full of flavor — a perfect start to the meal.
Next, we tried the hot appetizer platter, which featured zucchini fritters, jacket potatoes, grilled halloumi, sun-dried tomato sausage, fried cheeseballs, and fried zucchini. While everything was well-prepared and delicious, the standout items for me were the fried zucchini, halloumi, and cheeseballs. The only minor letdown was the zucchini fritters, which didn’t quite live up to the rest.
The highlight of the meal was the mixed meat grill platter, which came loaded with chicken patties, pork neck chops, soutzouki, grilled chicken breast, sausage, and kebab. The quality of the meat was excellent — juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled to perfection. While it’s meant for four people, the generous portion could easily satisfy six to seven, making it a great value for money.
Adding to the experience was the live music, which provided a vibrant and authentic Greek touch without overpowering conversation. It really elevated the whole evening and made it feel special.
The service was impeccable throughout — attentive, friendly, and efficient. And considering the high quality and generous portions, the prices were surprisingly reasonable.
Overall, Anefani delivered a fantastic dining experience. Great food, warm ambiance, excellent service, and live music — what more could you ask for? Highly...

Utilising a firm but yet playful-like stance in provision to the customer's needs, the boundaries are, simply put, "stretched" to the customer's liking while enjoying the wonder that is the Anefani Traditional Restaurant.
For starters, you couldn't avoid it's aura of a joyful, harmoniously working team, as passing by the restaurant you are bound to be greeted with such endearing smiles and kind words of welcoming, that deem it nearly impossible to not give it (at the very least) a try.
The Service staff are all so friendly, patient even under the pressure of a fully booked rooftgarden and most importantly, there's no doubt about their fluency in the English language.
The traditional Greek dishes we tried were absolutely delicious, down to the very grain of rice, each bite, each taste, each spoonful, each sip, left nothing more to be desired. Upon us were bestowed magnificent works of culinary mastery, such as the "Crockpot cooked Lamb" and the "Beef Ragout" which we talked about for hours on even after we had left and we spoke of how succulent and tender they both were.
How could I skimp out on mentioning the most fabulous, the most impressive and delightful cocktails we have ever tried on God's green Greece? The proficiency of Anefani's Bar Staff is well... quite a tad bit over the roof if I might dare to say😁 Drinks mixed with love and care, exquisite in taste and presentation, without muddled and funky looking ingredients floating around, and with near fresh-out-the-box condition of drinkware.
If you want to feel like you're being fed with a golden chalice and spoon, don't miss out on having the opportunity to live the dream for a night there when you...
Read moreIf I had to only rate the food, view and service upstairs - it would be 5 stars, because it was truly amazing. I ate here best moussaka in my life, but all the food we ordered was amazing, including the house red wine. I cut one star because of the experience we had with the lady outside - first we were ignored (maybe we looked too poor or just the fact we were not American tourists). After she acknowledged us, she told us we have to wait around 10 minutes for the table downstairs- no problem at all, we walked there and waited, enjoying the live music. After 15 minutes the waiters downstairs were a bit confused why we are still there, so another lady approached us (very nice and professional) asking if we are waiting for the table upstairs - which we confirmed. She said she will check on it and let us know. We were left for another 5-10 minutes and started to be invisible for the people there so we asked if we can just eat downstairs if there is no available table for us. After some discussions they agreed, brought us water and menu. We were looking at it and this first, not nice lady came angry at us that we have menus and saying that the table is ready for us. All in all we ate upstairs, with wonderful view and it was amazing experience. Don’t get me wrong here - it’s okay for us to wait, even 20 or 30 minutes, but we had really wrong experience with this lady at the beginning and then felt like intruders, which made very bad first impressions of Athens (it was on out first evening there). Communication is the key ;-) anyways, upstairs we had amazing waitress (thank you for having us!) and the food as I mentioned was...
