The Pros: It’s not far from the Acropolis. The rooms are OK and the small smart TV is internet enabled meaning you can log on to your subscription TV or YouTube account.||The Cons: Barely a 2-star hotel, there's no way it’s 5-star! It’s situated in a rundown part of Athens where there are no restaurants or bars. Right outside the hotel there are tramps going through the bins, drug users, beggars and prostitutes. Unfortunately, the hotel and its amenities in no way compensate for this in what they have to offer.||There are no proper amenities at this hotel outside of your room which is just OK. The bathroom was very cramped, odd design as the room was plenty big enough for a larger bathroom. Only one set of towels in the room despite two guests. The air conditioning in the room didn’t appear to do anything. Apart from BBC News there were no English TV channels.||Our booking included breakfast and dinner. In the “restaurant” (which is better described as a canteen and even that’s generous) there was a buffet serving of one choice of meal which was macaroni cheese with ham and other choices of vegetables on our first evening. We asked if we could have a drink with our dinner and we were told that they only served water. There’s no bar so no wine, beer or even a soft drink was available as the hotel doesn’t appear to sell anything off-booking.||Breakfast was equally disappointing. Again, it was buffet style in the same canteen. On offer were fried eggs skating around in oil, scrambled egg (obviously powdered), bacon and some odd-looking sausages. There were also some continental offerings. I wanted to get some toast but there was no sliced bread out and when it was brought out it was obviously straight from the fridge. I couldn’t see a toaster so I asked and was told there’s no toaster. So, we had to settle for cold sliced bread!||So, in summary this hotel is more like a hostel in a bad area of Athens and if like me you like a nice restaurant and bar in your hotel to relax in for the evenings that you don’t want to go out and about, I’d avoid this hotel...
Read moreI and my family had the misfortune of staying at your hotel from Nov 13 till Nov 16. During our stay, we have encountered some unsatisfactory services and treatment. Since we arrived on Nov 13 at around 10 am, we were given room no 603. We found that the door handle of the bathroom was broken.
On Nov. 15, I left the hotel with my daughter leaving my husband inside the room. I was surprised to receive a call from my husband where he got entrapped inside the bathroom and could not open the door. He tried calling the reception from the bathroom phone, yet he could not get through anyone. Fortunately he had his mobile set with him so he called me and I was away from the hotel. He called me and in return I tried calling the hotel many times with no answer. He tried many times using the bathroom phone till he succeeded by chance to reach out to them. The reception sent a technician to release the door. Back to the hotel, I talked to the reception lady (Maria) for not answering. The lady was talking in a very unprofessional way and insulted me of being impolite. I had to push her computer screen as she left me and talked to her phone leaving me behind. She threatened that she will call the police and I accepted to wait for the police after being insulted in such a rude and disrespectful way. The police officer came and I narrated to him what exactly happened and you can download the CCTV to verify everything and see how offended I was.
I was really shocked by the level of ignorance in treating your...
Read moreWe were skeptical about our hotel stay at the Boss Boutique in Athens after reading the reviews.| Please dismiss the negatives.| The positives way outnumbered any negatives.| The lobby is very modern and huge with an abundance of couches. We arrived before check-in, but the receptionist was more than accommodating about placing our luggage in safe storage while we went off to explore the area.| The neighborhood is average but may seem less so when you look at the lovely Boutique building.| When our room was ready at 3 pm, we collected our luggage and proceeded to our room, on the 6th floor. It was a corner room with high ceilings and was huge! It was bright with many windows and a bit of street noise but not bothersome.|The furniture and floor appeared new, just not high-end quality but definitely satisfactory. The rain shower worked well with plenty of hot water. The paint was white throughout and looked very clean. The beds are firm and provide us with a good night' sleep.| There is a delightful buffet breakfast and plenty of seating choices. The buffet had many offerings, including eggs, meats, cheeses, fruit, salad, desserts, toast coffee, juice, etc.| It is only 5 min. from Omonia metro station with easy transport to the Acropolis and other major sightseeing places. and the Omonia square, which offers fine restraunts and shops.| The Metro also will make the trip to the airport seamless.| The price was very reasonable. We hope you will enjoy your stay as...
