Visiting Lycabettus Hill in the heart of Athens was an absolutely incredible experience. From the moment I started my hike up this picturesque hill, I was captivated by the lush greenery and the serenity of nature. The well-maintained paths made the journey enjoyable, and as I ascended, my excitement grew.

Reaching the summit was like stepping into a postcard. The panoramic view of Athens sprawled out beneath me was awe-inspiring. It felt as if I could see the entire city from this vantage point. The historic landmarks, the charming neighborhoods, and the city's unique blend of ancient and modern architecture all came into focus. It was a visual treat that I'll cherish forever.

I had the pleasure of being there in the evening, and the sight of the sun setting over Athens was nothing short of magical. The sky transformed into a mesmerizing canvas of warm hues, and the city lights began to twinkle, creating a captivating atmosphere. It's a fantastic spot for a romantic moment or just to take in the beauty of Athens.

Lycabettus Hill is a must-visit destination in Athens. The combination of natural beauty and the splendid view it offers of the city is truly unforgettable. Whether you're a nature lover, a history enthusiast, or simply seeking a stunning view, this place has it all. I can't...

Be careful...It seems to be there are thieves on the observation deck. 2 guys and 1 girl working together. I was taking a photo of Athens and my gf saw standing somebody behind me (I didnt see him). After that we decided to move something like 15m away and take pictures of a different part of the city. After couple of shots i turned around and saw a guy standing behind me something like 1m pretending taking photos etc..but at this place there wasnt any need to be standing behind me. I told my gf that he is suspicious to me and she said its the same guy who was standing behind me the previous time. I was watching him after that he left. Maybe 10mins later he was doing the same thing to another guy and couple of minutes later again to another guy. He was standing close behind them pretending looking around. (They didnt notice). Later on a girl and the guy came to him talked to each other and then separated again. It was very suspicious i would say 99% plus they were thieves. Be careful of your sorroundings. Other than that the views were great a lot of people in a peak time. After sunset the amount of people...

The craziest view you can see in Athens is simply amazing and in general get there before sunset, then you can take pictures both before and after sunset, really recommended There is no public transportation to the place, so the options are to walk (about 15-20 minutes walking uphill) or with the help of a taxi or a private car to a certain point and from there, a 5-minute walk. At the top of the hill there is a spectacular 360 view of the entire metropolis of Athens that no picture can describe. There are restaurants and cafes in the place - in the big restaurant the service is really bad and they don't come and they just dry you to death, in the bar the service is really excellent and fast and the view is also really beautiful from there You can go up to the mountain by electric trolley at an additional cost and from there on foot to...

The perfect location to see the whole of Athens and admire the Acropolis from afar. The hill provides all round views of the city, as well as out to Piraeus and the sea. If you like to appreciate the extent of a sprawling city, it’s ideal. It has a small bar/café at its top, though when we visited in the afternoon it didn’t appear to have any food left. The church by the viewing area is also worth a dip into if open, as it’s beautifully decorated inside. Although my travel companion and I visited with the intent of walking up the hill, even in late March it was a bit too hot to do so, so we took the funicular up for a few euros each (one way). We then walked down, which was relatively easy given the sloping nature of the path as it wound its way through countless aloe and prickly pears.

A must have experience when in Athens, you can either walk up or take a Cable Cart to the top, the viewing area on top of the hill is at 277 meters, it's quite incredible to see Athens so high up. • To find the Cable Cart, please Google: "Lycabettus Hill Funicular" it's around 10€. The view is well worth it going up there, you won't forget it I guarantee you. • Restaurant Orizontes Lycabettus • If you go up there I highly recommend trying out the Restaurant Horizons, but if you do, reserve a spot online in advance, especially on the weekend, you can have a dinner at the edge of the hill overlooking the city, absolutely amazing. • Best time, Sunset • If you want to catch the Sunset, go at 19:00, you will catch the Sunset everytime, sunset will happen roughly around 20:00.
