Absolutely first class!
Please allow me to share with you my review of the Hotel Vision in Budapest.
We chose to book this hotel as the reviews were amazing, and everyone seemed to love it, and oh my god, it certainly lived up to the hype! From the minute you enter the lobby you know you are about to stay somewhere a bit special. I could go on for days about how good this place is but I'll try and keep it simple!
Location. Right on the banks of the Danube, with trams, buses, and taxis all in walking distance. There are nice restaurants nearby (Greek and Lebanese) and you're not far from supermarkets. It's also perfectly placed for sightseeing and all the other touristy stuff like boat trips and the christmas markets.
The Hotel. It's super modern with a nice chilled out vibe. There are comfortable seating areas in the lobby where you can grab a coffee or tea. It has a gym, sauna, and lifts. Access is really good for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Secure too because you can't use the lifts to access the rooms unless you have a room card - nice touch i thought!
Reception. The staff greeted us with a big smile and were very polite and professional. They genuinely made us feel like we were the only guests in the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, even providing street maps and assisting us with booking tours.
The Room. WOW! Beautiful decor, spacious, and well thought out, fully adjustable air-con, proper coat hangers, and plenty of storage for our clothes and toiletries. Safe, minibar, big TV, and everything worked as it should. Goldilocks would have no trouble getting a good nights sleep. (An actual double bed and NOT two singles shoved together!) And if you needed anything extra like pillows, slippers, or a bathrobe, these were all available from reception.
Housekeeping. I'm not gonna lie, I've got this 'thing' about dirt! And it's one of the things I'll mark a hotel down for if it isn't done right. However...The ladies here do an exceptionally good job, and I mean meticulous scrubbing of a room to within an 'inch of its life' good! For that I think they deserve a special mention. It really is no exaggeration to say the rooms once cleaned are spotless!
Breakfast. For any traveller from any part of the world I can say with some degree of certainty that you will find something you will like, be it warm sausage, bacon and eggs, cereals, fresh fruit and even a fresh pancake making machine. (I'd like to interject at this point and dismiss a fellow reviewers complaint about the pancake machine not working - that's absolute rubbish! We were there at the same time as this guest and I had half a dozen fresh pancakes every morning without fail!) The staff were friendly and again nothing was too much trouble for them, making fresh coffee on request and keeping the breakfast area clean and tidy for the steady flow of diners.
I think I've covered most of the main points a potential guest would be looking for in a review and hope you've found it useful. I'll sign off by saying that every single aspect of the hotel is genuinely first class. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.
Köszönöm to all the staff at Hotel Vision for your hospitality, hard work, and, for making our Budapest visit...

Read moreLong review but it’s because people traveling to Budapest should choose a hotel where they can feel great, sleep great but also help the young generation of Hungarians be employed and exposed to good work.
Take a few steps away from the hustle and chain hotels to find a Ritz like experience at Hotel Vision. The only thing missing is calling you by name each time they greet you - which they do with smiles you don’t often find you in Hungary.
In between Liberty and Elizabeth Bridges, I found a top luxury hotel at the price you can’t imagine in the US. But here’s what I loved.
Young, friendly and professional staff. They laugh and sometimes do « small talk » - rare here. Several atriums with art and lighting to soothe the mind clean, modern furniture and design across the lobby, rooms, wellness wonderful spa area with relaxing seating, wet and dry sauna, small but ample fitness room to stay moving (max 10k dumbbell) everything is clean and new breakfast delicious and even if slightly overpriced, mimosa, iced latte and everything included.
But the people at the desk, breakfast and even cleaning staff are kind and always recognize you.
Thank you to Dura 1, Dura 2 for handling check ins and calling me about my lost luggage. To OT and Ben for morning greetings (laughing at and with me) and knowing how many steps to the ATM (137 not 160), to Matild for documenting my requests. And most especially to the four ladies (sorry for not having names but they know who they are) who greeted me at breakfast with smiles, small talk, laughter and recommendations. And without me asking, they went out of the way to ask me every day if I wanted to refill my bottle with ice and water - even when i forgot to ask. Also, a young man who worked the restaurant at night who was always kind and served as a doorman of sorts when i arrived each night.
