I don’t often write reviews but had such a horrible experience I felt compelled to warn everyone about this place. While the staff seemed well intentioned, they were just grossly incompetent and the food was absolutely disgusting. We were expecting a lovely night on the Danube, and saw high ratings on google, but we were beyond disappointed. Allow me to elaborate: The tables at the balcony had a nice view, but were right next to the back end of the AC blowing hot air on our heads with a terrible high pitch whining sound. So we relocated inside, with no view. The waitress spoke almost no English. We noticed how young and inexperienced the staff was ( they broke 2 plates separately within 5 minutes) so we suspected they were not well trained, and made sure to order food that was well cooked to avoid poisoning. I order a well done burger that came rare. It was rubbery and tasted funny probably frozen meat. My wife ordered fish and chips, which was much worse. Spoiled tasty mushy mystery “fish” with a soggy batter about 3 cm thick. Completely revolting, my wife was ready to hurl after one bite. The “chips” and the “fries” were just soggy potato wedges having no resemblance to what you’d consider edible. We were complexly disgusted. They also charged us for what seemed like tap water. I hope the manager reads this, the place was mostly empty, not surprisingly.

We found the perfect spot for dining outdoors on an elevated terrace overlooking the Danube River and downtown Budapest! Other than at the top of Castle Hill, we had a hard time finding outdoor spaces for dining with a nice view of the river. The patio here was shaded and provided the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing lunch with a spectacular view. The food was delicious and the service was the best we've had in Budapest. Our server Nori was wonderful, friendly, efficient and spoke perfect English. The restaurant is on the second level of Rudas Baths, a three story historic spa with baths dating back to 1550. While some guests of the baths were dining at the restaurant, the restaurant is open to everyone and has a modern decor and even an elevator. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to enjoy dining outdoors in Budapest with a spectacular view. They also have indoor dining with windows overlooking the river. We would love to come back here sometime for dinner and see everything lit up on the river. We will definitely be back!

Great view, great food, great music. This bistro is not one of this underestimated public-swimmingpool-bistros with burgers and fries. It's a hidden gem. Even though you can entry through the rudas bath facilities with your swimming clothes it is a stylish venue and has nothing to hide. When you enter through the main entrance you will get surprised once you enter the bistro room as the stairway is not very inviting. Than you will get rewarded with a designer dining room overlooking the Danube River. In summer there is an inviting terace. We choose the 3-course-dinner where you can choose from different options - also vegetarian. Mushroom soup- very creamy and intense Burger and fries- well done and spiced Goat cheese beetroot salad - interesting combination and creative making. The waiter recommended the dessert "swimming island". It's worth a try. Whilst enjoying the magnificent view and smooth lounge music.

My husband and I got a voucher for a romantic dinner at Rudas Bistro, so we called to make a reservation. The lady on the phone said the place was fully booked due to a graduation event so we ended up scheduling for today. I can only tell it was the worst experience I could ever have in a restaurant. The lady who was working today (blonde, thin and with fake eyebrows) refused to give a us a table in the terrace by claiming that 20 people had already reserved a table outside, therefore nothing could be done. She was extremely rude and loud, saying that if I didn't like it I should come back another day. However not only our voucher said the dinner was supposed to be in the terrace, but we also had reserved a table days before. I insisted to have a solution and asked for some more kindness from this girl, but she completely ignored me and turned to be even more louder and rude until some other waiter decided to find a table outside. It was interesting to see how fast a table turned out to be available after a bit more of energy from me. By the way, besides mine, another table was completely empty during all the time my husband and I were in the restaurant. Clearly, the girl didn't want us to stay in the restaurant to avoid having more work to do. Or should I say the color of my skin and the texture of my hair defined the kind of treatment I would receive? Or yet, the voucher was key factor for her unprofessional treatment? In the end, after paying the bill I told the girl she needed to learn some manners and treat clients with more respect without making any distinctions, but again she laughed, answered with ironies and offered not a single apology to her behavior. Apart from this terrible customer service, the food is average for the prices and the place was messy, not too mention the poor English of all workers in a extremely touristic environment. Eating on the streets with pigeons would have been better than...

It started of rather promising , where the menu looked good even though slightly expensive for this part of EU. The waitress recommended a good tasting drink and promptly took our orders. After that it was quite a shitshow. The food looked good , very instagramable but… The schnitzel was quite dry and the potato salad had pieces of hard not cooked through potatoes, while tasting nothing like a Vienese potato salad, it was just overly sour. But the worst part was the pasta. Probably the worst tasting meal i had in a long time, huge chunks of undercooked onions, very oily, too sweet, and way too much garlicky. It reminded me of a middle school canteen. Also the pasta was criminaly overcooked. The chef should be sent to culinary jail. Also the other waitress that took over, took our plates and didn’t ask us anything leaving us with empty drinks for quite a while. Took myself to the bar where i paid with the bartender quite taken aback by the fact that there is automatic added gratuity, no incentive whatsoever. I just paid not wanting to make a fuss since we have a train to catch. Anyway wouldn’t recommend. Overpriced, with bad food and...
