Great Fun and Learning at the Museum of Illusions Budapest

I visited the Museum of Illusions in Budapest with my 13-year-old, and we both had a fantastic time! It’s a fun, interactive museum full of clever illusions, brain teasers, and mind-bending experiments that are both entertaining and educational.

One of the highlights for me was that all the information was in both Hungarian and English, which made it really easy to understand and engage with everything. The explanations were clear and often fascinating, which made the whole experience enjoyable for both adults and kids.

The museum is also very hands-on, encouraging visitors to interact with the exhibits rather than just looking. This made it especially fun for my child, who loved trying out all the illusions and puzzles.

A big bonus was the super friendly and helpful staff. They were always nearby, ready to explain how things worked, and they offered to take photos of visitors at the best illusion spots, which really added to the fun.

That said, the museum was very crowded when we visited, so we often had to wait to try different installations. It took away from the experience a little, as it was sometimes hard to take photos or read the information in peace.

Also, the entrance is a bit easy to miss—we actually walked right past it at first. It could benefit from better signage or visibility from the street.

Despite these small issues, I would definitely recommend the Museum of Illusions, especially for families with children. It’s a great mix of fun, science, and creativity—well worth a visit...

We really have enjoyed our experience in the museum however the staff was super disrespectful and rude to us. When we first entered we gave our coats at the reception as everyone does, the person in charge of that was apparently a new employee he didn’t give us a badge number for where our coats were hanging, when we were about to exit we asked for them, and they started to act unprofessionally accusing us that we lost the badge or steal and wouldn’t believe us, and asked us to search our bags and the museum inside as if we are lying, after that they went inside to search for it and couldn’t find it when the other staff at the reception have found on the floor inside their office and again accused us that we threw it somewhere, and totally refused to check the security cameras asking us to pay a penalty price.. after that the same employee threw our coats in our faces asking us to leave without even apologizing and taking the responsibility for their mistake. They have ruined our experience with this unprofessional behavior! I suggest the administration to check and change the responsible staff of this scene into more professional, competent and...
