I had the pleasure of visiting MADHOUSE Bistro & Craft Beer Bar in 2022, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. As a craft beer enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for places that offer a wide range of options, and MADHOUSE Bistro did not disappoint.
The selection of craft beer available at MADHOUSE is simply outstanding. They have an extensive variety of both local and international brews, catering to every taste and preference. From crisp and refreshing lagers to hop-forward IPAs and rich, malty stouts, they truly have something for everyone.
What truly sets MADHOUSE apart is their knowledgeable staff. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by friendly and enthusiastic individuals who were genuinely passionate about craft beer. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and assist me in selecting the perfect brew based on my preferences. Their expertise and willingness to help made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
The ambiance of MADHOUSE Bistro is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it ideal for both beer connoisseurs and casual visitors. The bar itself is well-stocked and beautifully displayed, adding to the overall charm of the place.
In addition to their remarkable craft beer selection and knowledgeable staff, MADHOUSE also offers a variety of delicious food options to complement your brew. Whether you're in the mood for tasty appetizers or a satisfying meal, their menu has something to satisfy every craving.

Food. Had a sirloin steak and the fried chicken. Was never asked by the staff how we wanted our steak. Steak (25 EUR) was at the turning point to change to medium+. However, it was tasting very good and the salad had the perfect dressing, therefore making it an amazing companion to the steak. Chicken (13 EUR) was also nice, but those were not panco bread crumbs. The potato salad was very nice, tasty and refreshing. Beers average from (5-12 EUR),
Staff, money return and service fee. WTF... it hit me like a truck. Had a reservation and i was polite to inform them about it. The waitress rolled here eyes on me, coz she had to check if it was really reserved.. we sat down, ordered drinks 1st and she came by and also took the food order. U order twice so u get a service fee twice WTF (only saw it on the bill double charged) ok moving on.. This was the absurd part. The bill was 19.200huf i give 20k. Guess what, the comments saying u dont get ur money back is true. Gave the cash, waited 15min and nothing. Her colleague came by asking if we want something more, we say nah but we are waiting for our change. Rolles her eyes again says how lovely and leaves ( same person as at the reservation part). This is dont get. U want to make some tips, then do the job correctly, but noo, we take ur cash and disappear.
Atmosphere. Yeah i guess its alright, nothing to fancy,...
Read moreWe love Mad scientist beers and we regularly ordered from Madhouse during the quarantine, so we have been really looking forward to visiting the restaurant in person. Unfortunately our experience was a huge disappointment but let's start with the positives: the restaurant is in a great location and the outdoor area is also very nice, the beers are great and the food is tasty (although the portions are really small despite us not being big eaters). But the attitude of the staff and the level of service is terrible: we were eyewitness to a group of 6 people sitting down at a table and leaving ~15 minutes later because noone came to take their orders (despite there being only 3 tables taken); although the place was almost empty our orders took a really long time to get ready (even when we just asked for simple french fries); some of the waiters were really rude (especially with the foreigner guests - and we also heard them talking rudely in Hungarian about them). We were really sad and disappointed after our visit because there is so much potential in the place and it is especially regrettable that we treat foreigners with such disrespect leading them to believe that Hungarian...
