As the name says it blossoms 🥸 My take away
Yes they have very rare and good collections You can visit the book house, pick a book and keep reading as long as you want over there, like a library, no one will stop you whatsoever. So, if you are bored, do not have money to buy a book, wanted to read some book, and watch people in the showroom and you wanted to get noticed that people are watching you, please go there There are total of 3 floors, they have managed it quite okay In each floor at maximum you can accommodate 15 people, anything more than 15, you can smell your sweat and somebody else sweat as all. You can even feel air getting warmer. To my surprise, even in such a small floor, people manage to sit and read. And when they sit, they don’t care about others moving across their place..
When I went there, there were 3 girls sitting. One had a book, and seems she was in TRANS state, other one was holding a book with Instagram reels on other hand and the third one was watching these 2 girls. When I reached there and asked them, “excuse me” wanted to see some books in this shelf, can you please give me some space. All off them stared at me and gave me a look 👀, I was like
“Okay, parvagilla bidi”, you please keep reading, I’ll come back next year.
This is the condition of that blossom book house.
Price is reasonable, you can afford it No parking space Not sure there was a restroom or not. You can even give books and get some credit for it. Your credit score can be increased and out of that you can buy more books later. Crowd was excellent.
It’s a pride for banglorians, must visit place.
So far, most of the audience who visit the book house, have no clue why they visit and what to buy. And when they buy, after 4 hours they will realise, macha - Why I bought Maga ? Let’s give it back and increase the credit score
This is the mindset I saw in the crowd. So, please do visit with a respect and buy things that truly matters.
Oh yeah one final thing, they have 2-3 shops near by, the one I commented was the...
Read moreUmmmm I love this place. It's a must visit for book lovers visiting Bangalore. They have humongous collection of both second hand and new books. I especially love the various categories and genres of books they have on display(they even have a separate romance section)! The books are mostly organized in their proper sections but it's a lot of disorganization. But to be frank I don't mind that - because the best part of books is the serendipity of stumbling on books and Blossoms does this spectacularly. Also they delivery within the city without charges (maybe that's available for purchases above a certain value). The manager of the store was very friendly and helpful. 🍀✨Serendipity index - very high 👀 📖☕️ Browsing index - very high, you can sit for hours without anybody disturbing you and juste joy the place or flip through books. Also know that some sections of the store can get musty with ac not working. 🏷️% Discount/membership - No 🧾🔖📚Secondhand books - Yes a very wide variety available. The prices are a bit steep for second hand books found elsewhere but the place makes up for it with sheet variety of books available so buy accordingly. 🗺️📚Regional books - Average. Limited collection of Hindi and Kannada books. The store is pre dominantly English. 🦹🏼♀️ Comics - Huge. I love their collection of magazines, they have so many ! But their condition and maintenance is not the best. A lot of them are chucked into boxes haphazardly and get torn up very easily. Also the comics are not cheap even the second hand ones. Can get for much cheaper from other places but then the titles are harder to find so it's a balancing act. The Manga collection is also huge. ♿ Wheelchair index - Low. While there is a ramp and lift both are nearly useless from a wheelchair user's perspective - ramp is too steep and the lift is a bit narrow to enter. 🅿️🚘Parking - Difficult. There is no parking in front of the store but the metro station...
Read moreMy friend and I embarked on a literary journey at BLOSSOM BOOK HOUSE on Church Street, M G Road, Bengaluru, and the experience was nothing short of enchanting.
BLOSSOM BOOK HOUSE stands out for its extensive collection of books, predominantly in English. The meticulously organized shelves create a haven for book enthusiasts, offering a seamless navigation through various genres. The abundance of old books, available at reasonable prices, adds a nostalgic charm to the store, making it a paradise for those seeking literary treasures of the past.
The unique buyback policy, although not providing cash, offers a fair and eco-friendly approach, allowing patrons to reinvest in their love for books. This distinctive feature adds a layer of sustainability to the bookstore's ethos.
The section-wise arrangement of books is a thoughtful touch, enhancing the overall browsing experience. It caters to the needs of diverse readers, from fiction enthusiasts to avid followers of non-fiction and everything in between.
However, similar to other experiences, the store seems to fall short in representing a robust collection of regional language books, such as Kannada and Telugu. This might be a drawback for those with a penchant for exploring literature beyond English.
The attached photos beautifully capture the ambiance of BLOSSOM BOOK HOUSE, offering a visual testament to the literary wonders that await visitors.
In conclusion, BLOSSOM BOOK HOUSE emerges as a haven for English book aficionados, with its well-organized layout, extensive collection of old books, and a unique buyback system. While regional language enthusiasts might find the selection limited, the overall charm of the store makes it a must-visit for any book lover...
