I went to this shop for the first time yesterday. Had to go there again today for a small alteration. I am not a person who usually takes time off to write reviews. But the customer service experience at Milan was so bad that it made me get back home immediately to write this. I bought a ready-made saree blouse from here because there was no time for stitching.Obviously, I had to try them on before the purchase, otherwise it defeats the purpose of buying a ready-made blouse. The sales lady (named Shyla) was getting very impatient. She also did not appear pleased that I took off all the pins on the blouse that they had used to secure the sleeves that came separate. I think she expected me to put it on with the sleeves hanging inside and the pins poking me. Sorry I had to disappoint her. Still I took it in good humour because I can see that a sales girl's job is not an easy one. I was not satisfied with the 4 blouses I tried, so wanted to check the stock again. And you guessed it. She wasn't happy. Anyway, I said I will help myself because the blouse display was easy enough to access. I tried it on another one, liked it but wanted a different sleeve style (the sleeves were detached anyway) A lady named Rakhi (looked like she was the store manager) tried discouraging me and even ridiculing me for the idea of changing the sleeve, saying that it would be a time consuming process, because I will have to talk to the concerned person downstairs and they are likely not going to be ok with it.I was ready to give it a try because I did not want to pay 3000 bucks for something I didn't like a 100%. So I went down and talked to a lady called Jolly (Here I have to mention that Jolly was like a breath of fresh air.) In spite of being really busy, she accommodated me and said she could do it if I get the saree the next day and bought a matching material for saree and body of blouse.
So, because of Jolly's good service, I took time off work today and went to the shop again with the saree to pick up a matching material. All the staff appeared busy. I waited for someone to attend for about 15 minutes. Then I went up and asked a few of the salesgirls. They kept pointing to other staff. Shyla especially took care not to look me in the eye. So I had to seek Rahki's help. Yes, you guessed it. She refused to show anything and point blankly said the material I was looking for is not in the store (because apparently she knows all the stock). So back I went to Jolly. She found a salesman for me who was patient enough to find the material and Jolly was also kind enough to attend to me and take my measurements in spite of being really busy. Thank you Jolly! I gave the blouse for alteration. The only reason I made a purchase was because of one good staff member. I know for sure that this is the last time I visit the shop. I wish I had taken the time off to read the reviews before I went here. There are so many bad reviews about the customer service!!!! The owners must realise that business may still go on for some time with good products, but cannot sustain for too long with customer personnel who are judgemental and full of attitude. Abysmal customer service: The staff really do behave like we donāt deserve to have opinions. Extremely unenthusiastic about showing different options and borderline rude. You shouldnāt be asking me if Iām definitely going to buy something today for you to be helping me out, if I donāt like your stuff I aināt buying, simple.
Limited and basic options: For calling themselves a bridal destination thereās just one small wall of bridal sarees with very basic and boring design styles. Also, I donāt care if a celebrity wore it or if itās what you consider trendy, itās my wedding day so I will wear what I like.
Arrogant staff: As if the indifference from the lady who was helping us wasnāt enough, there was a manager person who behaved like she was Sabyasachi himself. Iām used to shopping in the US and Delhi since my parents live there and even big stores are more than happy to keep something you like aside for some time till you explore other stores and make a decision. Iām hopefully only going to marry once so obviously Iād want to consider all my options. I tell this to that lady and she responds by asking the staff to give what I liked to another customer who was interested and told me the saree might not be there when we come back šš Okay, bye then š Went straight to Beena Kannan Couture after, I was treated like a bride there with people ready to bring me all options of my preferences and drape and show me whatever I liked, I ended up buying two much more expensive, higher quality, exquisitely designed pieces from there. Ended up buying several other sarees for family members too. Save your time and just go there if you want to be treated well and have better options for your special day.
I can look past the disappointing collection but hire better staff Milan...
