La Taverna Del Corso — Restaurant in Rome

We decided to eat at the restaurant across from our pension. It was quite surprising to find it empty, especially considering how busy the street was. However, we were both hungry and tired, so we chose to stay. The place didn’t look great; it was just okay, but the vibe was off, and the bathroom was out of service. I was on a meatless diet that week and told the waiter I was vegetarian to simplify things. I ordered pasta without meat. After waiting for over 20 minutes, he brought me pasta with meat. I asked him to take it back and told him I’d have a pre-made pizza instead because I was hungry. He didn’t return and never came back to our table. The waiter was sarcastic, his English was poor, and his Italian was worse. He was from India. He didn’t return to our table, so when we opened the door to leave, he ran towards us to charge us. Best Restaurant in Rome 5 Stars

Out of the 5days we stayed in Rome, this was the best one in town. Look like an ordinary Roma takeaway resto but it surprisingly shocked me and my partner which we went there 3times and it did not disappoint us once. Words cannot describe how delicious the homemade food are with large varieties of dishes and best value. It is run by a lovely couple whom has been in the business for 15+ years. They are so lovely and welcoming with excellent and friendly services. Even had the Chef himself tailored made some dishes for us as it was not on the menu. We arrived late into Rome and were looking for some feel good food after a long day of travel. We normally try to use Google and search for restaurants 4.5 and above so La Taverna Del Costa would not make the cut based on it’s present rating.

However to pasta Vongole and Mushroom/Sausage Penne were outstanding. With a half carafe if house red we had a great meal. We were met by the staff with smiles and great service. It was a humble yet warm environment, that just served the best everyday food.
