Three meals in 24 hours.
That's how important this food is.
At Ai 4 Venti. These four genuine , warm, welcoming food, wine, and drink lovers have done everything right. Marcello welcomes you to a free table in this mostly packed small table experience.
First off... and I know this is potentially an odd suggestion, but get the beans. More on that later.
Generous portions of exciting home-cooked Italian fare with Eastern European influences couple geniunely throughout the menu. You're offered the standard bread, local olive oil and balsamic tableside along with a small dish of what I believe was Parmigiano Reggiano.
While we were there, they offered a special black truffle menu. We had the Pici pasta with white sauce and black truffle which was divine. Homemade pasta was the star of this dish followed by the generous slices of truffle. Our main dish was the steak Florentine (when in Montepulciano I suppose) which was expertly grilled and was served with a 6 pack of various delicious salts to choose from. Sides included the beans and a vegetable puree which was very unique and tasty. Dessert was Tiramisu in a cute taracotta style flower pot. A bottle of local (affordable) wine from Marcello's recommendation was a perfect accompaniment to this delicious meal.
As we walked out, we were offered two lemoncello aperitifs as we ventured back the beautiful hills of Montepulciano with plenty of leftovers and talked the whole way back about our wonderful experience.
Day 2.
We had both lunch and dinner. Lunch samplings included the pappardelle pasta and local seasoned beef, again the beans, and a wonderful sweet and sour onion dish that was completely new to us. Dinner was stuffed tortelli, 4 cheese w/pecorino gnocchi which was pillowy, full of flavor and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of various peppercorns. Marcelle served us two well-crafted cocktails and offered the lemoncello again on our way out.
During our dining experience, there was consistent outbursts of laughter and joy coming from the kitchen from the two chefs. There is such rich love and life in this place and it vividly expressed in every dish. The chefs join you at the table.. warn you not to eat too much bread before starters and first course.
This place was everything we'd hope we'd experience in a meal in Tuscany.
The beans. This is the simplest dish we had served nearly in a humble bowl with minimal garnish. This would seem to just be a filler dish... I mean, everyone's had great beans, right? The problem is that we can not stop talking about them. The beans were buttery, silky, and the csrnival of flavors exist not only in the decadent sauce, but inside each and every legume in every bite. Perfectly seasoned, familiar yet just out of reach flavors that excite the pallette and send you out of Italy to a Romanian home kitchen. In short, this is a must-eat restaurant, worth the train and bus ride across Tuscany to visit.
Also, get the damn beans people and please give these 4 wonderful people back all the love and life they put...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently had the immense pleasure of dining at Ristorante ai 4 Venti, and we were absolutely floored by the impeccable quality, service, and atmosphere. A huge thanks to Beatrice and Claudia for hosting an unforgettable evening that went beyond traditional Tuscan cuisine to introduce us to spectacular Romanian dishes from their home country. Each and every dish was scrumptious, beautifully plated, and out-of-this-world delicious. The staff, including Claudia, Emanuela, Giulio who work in the Kitchen and Marcello, Beatrice and Mihai in the dining room were warm, wonderful, accommodating, and attentive. The starters were exceptional; the cauliflower soufflé was beautifully plated the Chianina beef tartare with accoutrement were a delight. As for the second course, traditional Romanian soup, delectable walnut ravioli, and blueberry risotto were a revelation. The main course was a traditional Romanian smoked meat and potato stew, truffle-covered beef slices and of course a Bistecca were all mouthwateringly good! But the evening didn't end there! We were treated to a fabulous heavenly tiramisu, accompanied by a whimsical green apple cotton candy plant in a terra-cotta pot. As a final touch, Beatrice poured us some barrel-aged grappa and a unique, spicy pepperoncino liqueur for the perfect digestive. What sets this restaurant apart is its brilliant fusion of local, traditional Tuscan dishes and Beatrice and Claudia's Romanian culinary treasures. The Romanian dishes were an unexpected and spectacular addition to an already amazing menu. As bed-and-breakfast owners, we only recommend the best of the best to our guests. Ristorante ai 4 Venti is undoubtedly it. To underscore this, our guests this week who stayed with us for 14 nights dined here three days in a row! Hats off to Beatrice and Claudia for such a wonderful, diverse, and enriching dining experience. If you find yourself in Montepulciano, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. You will not be disappointed! XOXO-Cheers, Sandy, Phil, Cooper & Maverick. Relais...
