The food was nice, but the service was terrible. During our meal, a male waiter just came to our table, took our menu, and gave it to customers in another table, without saying anything. How rude is that. I read several comments, all mentioned this male staff. Perhaps the same person. Because of this person, I give one star (or minus, but one is the lowest). Also a male staff, when we checked out, was very cold during the process. I don't understand why a restuarant can hire such a person to work here. Female staff were friendly, although one staff seemed not very professional. We said we wanted to use the terrance, and then she said something in Japanese in a small volumn, half way she turned her head to my friend, so neither of us could hear what she said. Then my friend asked in English, and then she just smiled, and said nothing! When we left, I noticed a notice saying that if you are using the terrance you cannot order the course menu. I think this information is necessary to deliver. The menu has three languages, so I don't think there is an excuse for such behavior. Now I understand why the rating is so low while the food...
Read moreWent there yesterday after "The Nutcracker". It was partially crowded but there was no waiting line and no one to welcome or sit guests. I decided what to eat, according to the menu at the door. Later a waiter came and asked me if I was alone. And I was. There were around 6 absolutely empty tables and he told me I could only eat at a table if there were two more people with me. I tried to sit at the counter, but there were only bottles to look at and I would be the only one sitting there. I have been to more than 40 countries and never had to go through such an embarassing situation. It was the first time ever. I have been in Japan for 5 months doing academic research on the performing arts. It was extremely frustrating, because some of my best international experiences have been in Japan. And since yesterday one of my worst. One piece of advice: if you are alone, this restaurant is not for you. They do not like single people's money and will give you the worst sitting position...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be better a few years ago when I came here several times. The service has declined. The service was so slow and I had to ask for dessert two times (is included with the course menu). I don’t recommend the set menu as good value for money compared to other restaurants in a similar price range. The food is good quality but the portions are so small that calling it a three course set menu is not really accurate and a bit of a waste of money. Better to choose the food you actually want and get proper size portions of each thing. Great setting and nice views, so that makes up a little for disappointing food and service but there are better places around...
